The Festival of Essex Archaeology and Heritage 2025 is happening next Thursday at Cressing Temple Barns.

This event is being run by Place Services and Explore Essex at ECC.

It is a FREE event intended to inform people about the heritage of Essex and make them aware of opportunities to get involved if they would like to. There will be exhibitions from borough museums, local heritage societies, and archaeological contractors displaying finds from excavations across the county, among others. There will also be children’s activities such as a scavenger hunt, sandbox metal detecting, and puzzles.

Date: Thursday 24th July 2025
Time: Turn up any time between 10am and 5pm
Location: Cressing Temple Barns
Cost: Free, no tickets needed

Your hard work and dedication have made a real difference, and we sincerely appreciate the effort put into making the village green more accessible for everyone in our community.

This is a fantastic improvement, and we're so grateful to see it come to life. 👏👏👏

This Monday, 31st March, BPH Rail will be carrying out important work as part of their social project, making the pedestrian entrance to the Village Green more accessible for everyone! 👏

The improvements include a new gate and a ramp leading up to the entrance, ensuring smoother access for all users.

⚠️ Access to the Village Green remains open through one side of the existing gate, but please take care around the work area.

A huge thank you to BPH Rail for their commitment to improving our community spaces!

Tree Works

Please be aware that tree works will be carried out on the Village Green today and tomorrow (25th and 26th) by Bartlett Tree Experts.

This is in line with our tree survey report and work that was approved at the end of last year.

Additional Note: BPH Rail are also on site, carrying out work as part of their social project to create a more accessible pedestrian entrance.

Parish Public Engagement Session Part 2

The parish council working group has listened to residents’ concerns about a sublease to transfer responsibilities for the village green, and the length of financial support, to the HBO Sports and Community Club charity and has considered the further options available to it. There will be a second public engagement session on 25th February 2025 at 8pm in the school hall. The subject matter will be centered around the options contained in the document linked below.
