Dark Peak Books & Gifts in Glossop is hosting a special event with local author Helen Larder, the previous winner of a Derbyshire Libraries Short Story Competition, on Wednesday 19th November.
From 4pm-5pm, Helen will be in store signing copies of her debut young adult thriller 'Hidden Toxins'. The novel follows teenagers Cedar and Sorrel as they find themselves caught up in the dangerous world of a corrupt politician. With its mix of high-stakes drama, LGBTQ+ characters, romance and multiple storylines - some drawn from real-life events - Hidden Toxins is a gritty and thought-provoking read for young adults and beyond.
Following the signing, from 5pm-6pm, Helen will lead a creative writing taster session for older teens and adult aspiring writers called 'Do you want to write a thriller?', upstairs in the shop on High Street West.
