Well, after one epic European road trip, the motorhome was definitely showing a few signs of adventure… scratches, marks and plenty of evidence that we’d actually been using it! 😂🚐

So I took it back to PP Protect to get it all the marks taken out and had it polished up, and honestly… it looks like new again! ✨

Along with the new graphics we had fitted the other day, I think it’s safe to say she’s looking absolutely amazing once more! 😍

Almost too nice to take on another adventure now…

🎒 Back to school! 📚

Well, that summer went by far too quickly! 😳

George is 14 and heading back for the new term today — and, unbelievably, he’s actually excited to be going! 😂

He was up early and ready to go, which we’re still trying to get our heads around, he’s even leaving half an hour early… not because he loves school that much, but because he’s meeting up with his mates! 😆

It feels like only yesterday we were taking those first-day-of-school photos, and now look at him! Where has the time gone? ❤️

Wishing George (and all the other kids heading back) a brilliant new term! Good luck to all the parents too — you’ve made it! 🙌😂

Spot the difference! 👀🚐

The guys had a quiet day in the workshop, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to take the van in for a little makeover!

We’ve had some new graphics added, and I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out. 😍

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since we found our perfect family motorhome, Dethleffs XL Family, at Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf! ❤️

We knew the moment we stepped inside that this could be the van for the next chapter of our adventures — and what a year it’s been! 🚌💨

Here’s a little tour we filmed on the very day we found it. So many adventures were still ahead of us… and we had absolutely no idea just how many memories we were about to make. ❤️

Here’s your ‘3 rings’ to let you know we’re home safe!
After an incredible road trip around the Iberian Peninsula and back up through France, despite the issues with the motorhome, we finally made it home!
We spent our final night parked up at the marina in Calais and queued for the ferry with a cup of tea in hand.
We then rolled back onto UK roads with Lynds taking her first turn driving The Beast for the final stretch.
Massive thank you to everyone who followed along, cheered us on, commented and sent messages, it means the world.
We will continue to update you about the problems we’ve been experiencing with the van in the videos and will of course let you know in due course how we resolve them so please do keep watching ❤️

This week on YT, our journey around the Iberian Peninsula continues, but our motorhome is still giving us cause for concern!

We limp onwards, visiting two very different campsites along the way. Following recommendations from our subscribers, we discover some fabulous sites with fantastic facilities before heading into the mountains for a very special stay with some YouTube friends.

We’ve been invited to visit Izzy and Phil from The Gap Decaders, who have created a gorgeous off-grid home in the mountains. With an invitation like that, there was no way we were going to say no!

George and I had a great day yesterday. Steve has been feeling poorly for a few days, so we left him in the motorhome to finish editing this weeks video and went off in search of some magic! ✨

We’ve been to Disney a few times, but it’s always been when the big boys were “the perfect age”. This was the first time we’ve taken George, and he’s finally been tall enough to fully enjoy the day.

It’s fair to say he didn’t love “It’s a Small World” (I insisted we ride it for nostalgia 😂), but we both agree that Pirates of the Caribbean is the OG Disney ride! 🏴‍☠️

We lasted 12 hours, somehow managed to dodge the queues and the storms, and had a brilliant time exploring, riding and, of course, eating!

George’s top highlights were Pirates, turkey legs and Mike Wazowski.

My top highlight? Having my big little boy all to myself. ❤️

Yesterday was a very different kind of day.

We left behind the fun and excitement of our travels and visited the haunting remains of Oradour-sur-Glane, a quiet farming village in central France.

On 10 June 1944, just four days after the D-Day landings, German SS troops entered the village and murdered 643 people — including more than 200 children.

The village was then abandoned, and its ruins have been preserved exactly as they were, creating one of the most powerful memorials to the horrors of war that we’ve ever visited.

Walking through the empty streets, past the abandoned homes, cars and shops, knowing what happened here, was incredibly moving. There’s something very powerful about seeing history frozen in time rather than simply reading about it in a book.

Oradour-sur-Glane stands as a permanent memorial to those who lost their lives, but also as a reminder of the terrible price that ordinary civilians can pay during times of war.

It’s not an easy place to visit.

But it’s an important one.

And yesterday, we felt very privileged to have been able to walk through its streets and remember those who never came home. ❤️

And then there were 3!

For the first time in over 18 years we are travelling internationally with just one son. All this space and time to chat is lovely, and we think he mostly agrees!

We are now winding our way north through France, and have some interesting and fun plans. Have you travelled with teens? Where are your top teen recommendations for France?
