Covid-19 update
The number of COVID-19 cases in Scotland is growing.
Also more people are ending up in hospital.
In Falkirk district, cases have increased rapidly in recent weeks.
Between July 2 and July 8, there were 573 cases recorded in the Falkirk Council area. Thatโs a 7 day positive rate of 356.1 per 100,000 people.
During that week, there were 58 cases in the Boโness and Blackness ward:
20 were in the Douglas area
18 were in the Carriden and Grahamsdyke area.
13 were in the Kinneil area.
7 were in the Newtown area.

The Government is also reporting a rise in hospital admissions due to COVID-19.
On June 25, there were 12 people in hospital in Forth Valley due to the virus.
That rose to 29 in the Forth Valley NHS area by July 9.
During the same period โ across Scotland โ hospitalisation figures grew from 188 people to 427.
The virus is still out there โ and more people are ending up in hospital. Please take care.

Latest COVID figures for Bo'ness
The Scottish Government has provided the latest weekly COVID figures. From March 17-23, there were 4 cases in the Kinneil area and 3 in the Carriden/Grahamsdyke area. There were 0-2 cases in both the Newtown and Douglas areas of Bo'ness.
Across the whole of Falkirk district - over the same week - there were 153 cases. This represents a case rate of 95.1 cases per 100,000 people.
Over the whole of Scotland in the same period there were 3889 cases - a case rate of 71.2 per 100,000 people.

Council wants to splash the cash
Falkirk Council will next week debate plans costing ยฃ43.5 million to create a new HQ, arts centre, library and hub in Falkirk town centre. The money will also cover refurbishment works at Falkirk Stadium and in offices in Larbert.

New Covid-19 rules
New Covid-19 rules come into force today. Here's a summary from the Scottish Government:

Inside peopleโs homes (from Wednesday 23, 2020)
โDo not meet people from any other households in your home or another personโs home socially, unless they are in your extended household.
โThese rules also apply to children.
๐Children whose parents do not live in the same household can move between homes, as can non-cohabiting couples.
โ ๏ธVery limited exemptions apply for childcare, and for tradespeople.

Private gardens or public outdoors spaces (from Wednesday, 23 September, 2020)
6๏ธโฃA maximum of six people from two households can meet in outdoor spaces.
โ ๏ธYou should limit as far as possible the total number of households you meet in a day.
๐ฆUnder-12s do not count towards the maximum number of households or number of people who can meet outdoors. Under-12s do not have to physically distance.
6๏ธโฃA maximum of six 12 to 17 year olds can meet in outdoor spaces, with no household limit. Physical distancing is still required.

Indoors in public spaces (from Wednesday, September 23, 2020)
6๏ธโฃA maximum of six people from two households can meet in public indoor spaces such as cafes, pubs and restaurants.
๐ฆChildren under 12 from those two households do not count towards the limits.

Hospitality (from 00:01 Friday, 25 September, 2020)
๐Pubs, restaurants and all hospitality settings will be required to close at 10pm.
๐Table service will continue to be required in all hospitality premises.

Car sharing
๐You should only car share with members of your own, or extended, household, and follow guidance when there is no alternative.

Working
๐กYou must continue to work from home where practicable.
๐These restrictions will be reviewed within three weeks and further guidance will made available where necessary.
