Just popped into the beautiful Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club today after a little tip-off… and I’m so glad I did! 🎄✨

They’re hosting a Christmas Craft & Gift Fayre today and tomorrow (3rd & 4th December) from 11am–3pm, and the quality of the stalls is honestly incredible — unique, beautifully made, and full of proper festive inspiration.

It’s always inspiring to see local talent not just supported, but genuinely given the chance to grow.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of videoing Darren Dunstan, Head Chef at The Victoria Inn, Threemilestone — and his story is exactly what makes Cornish hospitality so special.

Darren first came to the pub on work experience while still at school. He then joined full-time as a Level 2 apprentice, progressed to Level 3, completed his ILMs, and is now leading a team of 15 in the kitchen… and a proud homeowner too.

He’s a brilliant example of how apprenticeships, hard work, resilience, and grabbing every opportunity can lead to rapid progression and real rewards.

Massive respect to Darren — and to the team at The Victoria Inn for championing local talent the right way. 👏🌟

Phil Tufnell is coming back to Cornwall for an intimate “evening with” an evening with show at the Griffin Inn Newquay at 7:30pm on Friday 10th October. We have 27 tickets left at £35 a ticket to include a pasty, pint, the show and meet and greet photo. Lewis Nicholls will be presenting the 45 minute interview and the Q&A after I’ll be moving around the room with my mic for your questions to the man himself.
