Bolton FM is a radio station for the town we love to serve - BOLTON. We are based in the heart of the town and staffed entirely by volunteers who have lived in the town all their lives. We launched on Saturday 20th June 2009 in Victoria Square, Bolton; and now broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365(6) days a year. Our aim to be a respected and reliable source for everything that happens in Bolton, from local gossip; news; entertainment and music and sport events. If it matters to Bolton it matters to us. Although we, first and foremost, broadcast across Bolton we have listeners across the UK and around the world.

Ever wondered what you'd find in a community supermarket? On Thursday's This is Bolton we'll hear about the new venture at Sunnyside In Great Lever which opens next Wednesday with backing from Warburtons and Bolton Council.
We'll also discover Past Lives and Forgotten Stories from historian Gareth Winrow. Among the relatives from Bolton whose lives are unncovered in his new book are a club singer whose act would be frowned upon today and a miner who cheated death in a tragic pit disaster.

Could you offer a child a stable and loving home? On Tuesday's This Is Bolton we'll be talking fostering and adoption with Kayleigh, a Bolton-based social worker and Stacey, an adopter. We'll also be out in Tonge ahead of the opening on Friday of PupandCup Bolton, the town 's first cafe to be themed around dogs and their owners.
