"Two and a half meter canvas stretched. Tick. There is something so ritualistic about stretching. Knocking together the bars, hand muscles clenched, working up a sweat, the fire of the staple gun, the ripples smoothing as you work to the corners…getting it ‘just right’ so when you tap the surface you feel it in your chest, like a bass drum calling to action.
