On the workbench/in the sprayshop.....

Two of Accurascale class 31's and 37 and a Cavalex 56 are the latest locos to go through the weathering stages in the sprayshop, having undergone DCC Sound fitting, detailing and having drivers fitted.

The next stage is a "blending" application of the weathering, followed by varnishing.

Other loco's and wagons that have just been completed are a Dapol class 59, which has been DCC Sound fitted, driver adde...

Other loco's and wagons that have just been completed are a Dapol class 59, which has been DCC Sound fitted, driver added, detailed, etched plates fitted and weathered to a Light working state.

A Dapol class 73 has also been DCC Sound fitted, driver fitted, etched plates fitted, detailed and weathered to an Enhanced Faded Complete 4 Stage Medium working state.

An Accurascale class 50 008 and 3 FNA nuclear flask wagons have also just been completed. "Thunderer" has had a driver fitted, detailed, etched plates fitted and weathered to a Light working condition.

The 3 FNA's, 2 Accurascale and 1 Revolution, have been weathered to a Light/Medium working state.

While sitting at the modelling desk it's great to keep up with the weekly railway news, delivered in podcast form by Green Signals, with 2 very knowledgeable gentlemen with quite the railway CV (curriculum vitae not configuration variable).

Presented in an almost fully professional way, and governed by producer Stef, Nigel and Richard often delve into the beating heart of pretty much all that makes our railways run, and sometimes not run, which they investigate and report on warts and all.

A very broad spectrum of railway related topics have been covered, and some fantastic interviews have been undertaken, resulting in hearing so much more from the "horses mouths" than via usual edited offerings from agenda driven printed media.

Are they fully unbiased and without prejudice....well almost. Their bias and prejudice is usually against the ridiculous, and they are focused on the positive promotion of a more common sense approach to delivering a railway which works for us all, and looking over the shoulders of all those who influence the decisions that make our railways fit for purpose.

This is a totally unsanctioned promotion for something that I personally enjoy very much, every Thursday afternoon on YouTube, and as I'm a Silver member I get to watch the very entertaining and not quite so "polished" Raw and Uncut" on a Saturday.

I've learned a heck of a lot concerning railway governance, operational decision making, timetabling, HS2, preserved railways, railway companies and much more since I started watching.

If you get a chance have a listen from your usual podcast provider, or watch on YouTube. I very much doubt you'll regret it.

It's TEA time once more. 11 of the superb Cavalex 100t bogie tank wagons are about to start their weathering journey through works, along with 3 FNA's, 2 Accurascale and 1 Revolution, and 9 loco's. Just got to wait for the spray shop to cool down a bit though 😅

IT88 14:30 out of Inverness on its way to Glasgow Queen Street with 43176 leading and 43144 bringing up the rear. Taken at the over bridge at Inver 13/05 running 3 minutes late once more.
