Meet Gordon Cooper – Host of The Swinging 60s

Gordon bought his very first single back in 1969 - “Sugar Sugar” by The Archies - and that moment sparked a lifetime love affair with music. His tastes evolved wildly over the years, especially after receiving Deep Purple’s “Burn” for his 18th birthday… the gift that turned him into a lifelong rocker!
Rock is Gordon’s first, second and third love, though he admits The Carpenters are his “guilty pleasure.” Alongside his rock roots, Gordon has a deep passion for the music of the Sixties and Seventies, eras he lived through, loved, and knows inside out.
Gordon’s radio journey spans more than 25 years, including long-standing roles with Sunshine Radio on the Isle of Wight, eight years with Vectis Radio, and broadcasts across stations far and wide. With over 6,000 albums collected over the decades, his musical knowledge runs deep.
Now, Gordon brings his passion to BCR with The Swinging 60s - an hour of iconic hits, hidden gems, and stories from the decade that shaped modern music.
