Managed to fix the leg on my broken MacAllister workbench. Surprisingly there are no spare parts available for this workbench, I was gutted when one of the legs broke tried different types of glues but when it folded down it was just too much stress for the glue. I've now managed to engineer a new one using a 3D printer and a mill. It makes me feel good when I don't have to throw things away unnecessarily.

Sometimes even the newest aerials fail, I discovered this yesterday on the call out in Bournemouth. My customer had the aerial replaced less than a year ago. Unfortunately it was poorly installed on a thin mast pole, this snapped in the recent storms. I replaced the mast pole then discovered the aerial was faulty too. I took this video to show a comparison of signal level between their existing faulty aerial and my test aerial.

The end for long wave transmissions.
I remember listening to Radio Luxembourg and Radio Caroline on long wave back in the 70s. I guess it's about time we all moved on. 👍

Now disappearing, long wave radio broadcasts once gave a taste of far flung countries and cultures.
