Nerve Radio was set up in 1995 by two proactive students who wanted to have a radio station to use at their leisure. In the spirit of the Students' Union recognising eager, enthusiastic students, SUBU set up the station. In the beginning Nerve Radio was VERY different from the plush, sound proofed studios that there are now. It started in a porta cabin outside Poole House near to the cash machine.
Ever since 1995 we have run a two week FM broadcast each year, which is presented entirely by students here at Bournemouth University. In 2010, Phill Jupitus presented the Nerve Radio breakfast show on FM with two other students, which was a great experience for all the volunteers who got to meet him and the lucky students who got to work on-air with him.
