| Slough Town could make club FA Cup history on Sunday. Here's our big chat with Scott Davies, expanding on what appeared in last months When Saturday Comes magazine.

An excerpt from Scott: “There’s something special about non-league that I think I would miss if I ever went into the professional game as a manager so it’s not my be all and end all. There is a bit of me that would like to manage at a higher level of course, it will sound cringey and cliched but I’d love that to be with Slough, get them to the National League. That would be a real accomplishment if we could achieve that, but we’re probably a few years off doing it. The amount of money in the National League South at the moment, the size of the clubs, being part-time is definitely to our detriment and it is really difficult to jump above some of these big-hitters but I think the people at the helm and on the board are doing a fantastic job."

FA Vase Third Round | Reading City through and Windsor & Eton 'in the hat' as Berkshire sides look ahead to Fourth Round draw and the last 32.

Simon Johnson's Reading City were a goal down after 21 minutes to their Kent based opponents but a strong second half showing with goals from Ellis Cowd and a brace which included a penalty from James Clark put City into the Fourth Round.

Windsor & Eton will have to try again next week while Burnham and Berks County both exit.

Slough Town host Macclesfield on Sunday live on TNT Sports in the FA Cup (12:30), with a first-ever Third Round appearance on the line.

On the Rebels future, Davies said: “I look at Slough and it’s the perfect recipe for if there is going to be success . I know how hard [chairman] Ash and the directors work to try and make the club the best it can be and it’s a slow process but there’s so much hard work being done every single day.”

It would be remiss of us not to mark the big man’s birthday week. He would have been 50 this year. I can only imagine the enormous run of events that would put the Taylor Swift Eras tour to shame.

We’re always thinking about you Duds. Never forgotten ❤️❤️❤️

International call-up 🇧🇩 Kasper Hok is heading out to Bangladesh to play for his national side against Argentinian and Brazilian sides.

Hok's manager at Woodley United, Jordan Blake said: “Kasper is a humble, honest, hard working man. Someone who consistently wants to improve. He is a quiet individual but goes out his business and lets his football do the talking. He is liked by everyone on and off the pitch due to the characteristics I have just mentioned but also a brilliant footballer. He is a managers dream to work with and I’m sure he has a bright future at both club football but also on the international stage.”

322 and out. A remarkable set of numbers for George Lock who departs the Yellas a club legend.

A statement released on social media by Ascot United said: “After last night’s disappointing result, we had the difficult task of confirming that George Lock will be moving on from Ascot United.

“A remarkable servant with a club record 322 appearances and an FA Vase win, George has been an outstanding ambassador for this club in every sense.

“He still has plenty to offer, and leaves with our heartfelt thanks and respect. He will always be welcome home.”

Saturday will be Alan Devonshire's 913th and final game in charge of Maidenhead United. His longevity is incredible and he will go down as one of the clubs most successful managers.

The era of the Devonshiring is almost done. The term “You’ve been Devonshired” related to the managers knack for his unfashionable part-time side to regularly surprise and disappoint famous old Football League sides who dropped into the National League.

The most famous being to spoil new Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's first visit to watch the Dragons in the UK – Maidenhead winning 3-2. The absolute gall of the man.

Here's what's happening and how you can celebrate the great man: https://bit.ly/3M6ot7B

Hello.

A fund has been set up for Phil Ashford, a Reading FC and Slough Town fan who sadly passed away this week, with the aim of supporting his family.

I am reliably informed Phil was one of the masterminds behind Beard Day at Reading. I knew Phil through playing 5-aside every week. He was a lovely man who did so much to help people. When Launchpad were short of players for our tournament in the summer, Phil stepped up.

He will be sorely missed I know by all his friends and family.
