Air Ambulance Lands in Bradford After Southgate Incident

An air ambulance has touched down on Infirmary Fields off Westgate in Bradford following an incident at the nearby Southgate NCP car park.

Police have set up cordons around the area, with an ambulance also present at the scene below the multi-storey car park.

Emergency services are responding to the situation, but further details about the incident remain undisclosed.

Police are appealing for information following the launch of a murder investigation in Bradford.

Detectives have made arrests and would like to speak to anyone who saw or has footage of a disorder incident this afternoon (Friday 6 June) in the Newton Street area.

Police were called to the area at 2.31pm to a report of a number of men fighting in the street with what were described as bladed weapons.

Emergency services attended the incident and found a 19-year-old male who suffered serious injuries.

He was provided with medical care but sadly died at the scene.

A number of police scenes are in place and officers have made four arrests in connection with the incident so far.

One male has been arrested on suspicion of murder and three men have been arrested on suspicion of offences including affray.

DCI Dan Bates, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, who is leading the investigation, said: “A full investigation is ongoing into what has clearly been a very serious incident which has resulted in a young man losing his life.
“A number of initial arrests have been made and we are appealing for witnesses and information, as we work to determine the full circumstances of what took place.
“We will have a number of police scenes in place over the course of the evening and uniformed officers will also be patrolling to reassure residents. Colleagues from Bradford District’s Stronger Communities Team are also working to liaise with partners in communities.

Major Fire Engulfs Swimming Pool in Bradford

A significant fire has broken out at a swimming pool, located next to Dixons Allerton Academy off Oaks Lane in Bradford, this evening.

Thick plumes of smoke are visible from miles away, indicating the severity of the blaze.

Emergency services are at the scene, working to contain the fire.

No details on the cause or extent of the damage have been released yet.

unsure if casualty was taken by road or air but doesn’t sound good at all, more on this as we get it.

Police and council crackdown on high powered cars parking terribly.

The authorities have begun to crack down on unused vehicles causing chaos for local residents, starting in the bd5 and bd7 areas although this is expected to grow.

Police have started to remove the troublesome vehicles as owners ‘do as they please’ with regards to double yellow lines.

Detectives investigating a shooting in Bradford on Saturday 19 April have charged a man.

Mohammed Kamal, aged 24, of Girlington Road has been charged with attempt murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He’s been remanded to appear at Bradford Magistrates Court later today (Wednesday 23 April).

A 23-year-old man arrested remains in police custody.

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead at an address in Stead Street Shipley.

Officers were called at 9.29 yesterday morning (22 April) to a report of a concern for safety of a man there.

A 43 year old man sadly was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man aged 65 and a woman aged 54 have both been arrested on suspicion of murder and currently remain in police custody at this time.

A post-mortem examination will take place later today.

Whilst the investigation is in its early stages extensive enquiries remain ongoing by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.

Two major incidents to report from the city today.

Firstly major police cordons are in the centre of town after a man set himself alight inside Britannia house! His condition is unknown but the air ambulance was brought in to get him to hospital quicker! Hopefully this wasn’t fatal!

Secondly, Thornbury roundabout is closed following an RTC where the vehicle has gone through the railings and is perched. Again, the condition of the person is unknown.

Pleased to update that following the earlier collision, the gentleman is alive and with only minor injuries!
