What Are You Holding That God Asked You to Release?

Sometimes we’re praying for something new while refusing to release something old.”

You cannot hold tightly to yesterday and fully embrace tomorrow.

Some relationships, habits, disappointments and memories have become chains.

God may be asking you to release something—not because He wants to hurt you, but because He wants to free you.

Let us lay aside every weight…” — Hebrews 12:1 KJV

Ask God today: ‘Lord, what am I holding that You are asking me to surrender?’”

Stop Needing Everyone’s Approval
“You will exhaust yourself trying to make everybody approve of you.”

Some people change themselves just to be accepted.

They change their opinions.

Their choices.

Their personality.

Their boundaries.

All because they are afraid someone might reject them.

But hear this: You were never created to please everybody.

Jesus Himself was rejected.

People misunderstood Him.

People criticised Him.

Yet He continued doing the will of His Father.

If God has given you an assignment, you don’t need everybody to understand it.

Some people will celebrate you.

Some will question you.

Some will criticize you.

And some will never understand you.

That’s okay.

Your responsibility is not to convince everyone.

Your responsibility is to walk faithfully with God.

Stop measuring your obedience by people’s reactions.

Bible verse:
📖 Galatians 1:10 — “For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”

“Live for God’s approval, not the applause of people.”
You don’t need everyone’s approval to walk in God’s purpose.

God Isn’t Intimidated by Your Mess

“Maybe you think your life is too messy for God to use you. It isn’t.”
You may look at your mistakes and wonder how God could still have a plan for your life.

You may remember your failures.

Your wrong decisions.

Your past.

Your weaknesses.

But God is not surprised by any of it.

Peter denied Jesus, yet Jesus still restored him.

David made serious mistakes, yet God still called him a man after His own heart.

Your failure may be part of your story, but it does not have to become the end of your story.

God does not need you to be perfect before He can work through you.

He wants a surrendered heart.

Stop allowing shame to convince you that you are disqualified.

Repent where you need to repent.

Learn where you need to learn.

Get back up where you have fallen.

And keep walking with God.

Your mess is not bigger than God’s mercy.

Bible verse:
📖 Micah 7:8 — “When I fall, I shall arise.”

“You may have fallen, but get back up. God is not finished with you.”
Your past may explain where you have been, but it does not have to determine where God is taking you.
