The Number One Asian Hit Music Station broadcasting across Yorkshire on 103.2 / 100.6FM and on DAB across West Yorkshire, Manchester, East Lancashire and Milton Keynes. The SUNRISE RADIO studios are based in Bradford city centre and our mix of programming aims to take into account the areas diverse population, something that no other radio station in the region has previously attempted. Our popular Road Show Crew perform at all of the North’s leading Melas and together with community groups organise wonderful outdoor events such as the annual Masti in the Market in Leeds Open Air Kirkgate market

SUNRISE RADIO was named Media of the Year 2004 and has been Ethnic Media of the Year in both 2001 and 2002. We reach 74.5% of our TSA according to independent research which equates to 150,000 – 170,000 Asian Listeners each week on the FM licence alone although the potential to reach a bigger audience is realised by the fact that we also broadcast on the internet and on the digital radio (DAB) as well. We are also the only commercial Asian Station in the UK to team up with another station in Pakistan and broadcast to areas such as Jhelum, Mirpur etc.

A yellow weather warning has been put in place for the city of Bradford and its surrounding areas from midnight on Saturday until 6pm.

The alert covers places including Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool and Birmingham.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Heavy rain and thunderstorms may lead to some disruption."

Advice is to stay indoors.

Inspired by Ted Hughes’ The Iron Man and The Iron Woman, this is the spectacular grand finale to our year-long project, telling a new myth for Calderdale as giant creatures emerge from different parts of the valley to confront us about our treatment of the planet.

Made by and for the people of Calderdale, the event features three puppet creatures based on designs by Illustrator Chris Mould and local children from Todmorden, Sowerby Bridge, and Park Ward, brought to life by Thingumajig Theatre. Musicians from the Elland Silver Band organisation will perform a powerful live soundtrack, including three specially commissioned pieces.

The story begins as the three giants emerge from Calderdale’s rivers, moors, and streets. Joined by local children, they march together to demand action to save the planet. The grand finale will invite everyone – including you – to build a more hopeful future.

Don’t miss this free, family-friendly event, blending music, puppetry, and community spirit into a brand-new myth for Calderdale.
