🚨Large Emergency Response at a Leeds Clinic following Unknown Substance Scare

Fire crews including the DIM Unit from Dewsbury were called to reports of an incident involving an unknown substance at the Seacroft Clinic on Seacroft Avenue at 1.03pm today.

Knowles Park, Tong Street, Bradford,
Fire in Open - Proved to be a park picnic table 100% involved in fire. A police officer on the scene attempted to use an extinguisher initially which proved ineffective on the fire. The fire crew used 1 Hosereel jet to extinguish the fire and trees scorched by the flames.

Denholme Gate Road, Hipperholme, Halifax.
Dangerous Structure - Proved to be a section of scaffolding that had collapsed into the carriageway blocking the road completely. A fire crew and a CLM officer were sent to the scene. There have been no casualties and workmen are at present attempting to make the scene safe. The Fire teams have now left the scene after making there enquiries leaving the incident with the Police on the road closures.

Three car collision closes Canal Road, Bradford this afternoon

Road Traffic Collision - Proved to be 3 vehicles involved with one coming top rest on it's side in the carriageway. An ambulance and a specialist paramedic (critical care) were dispatched to the scene along with Police who closed the junction off to traffic. Fire service personnel made the vehicles safe, there were no casualties trapped in any of the vehicles involved. Walking wounded were checked over at the scene by paramedics but no-one needed to be conveyed to hospital.

Building fire - Proved to be a large fire involving a trailer, a large pile of rubbish and a building on fire which was a partially collapsed derelict building. Incident was a MP x 5 as a Large black cloud of smoke from the scene rose into the sky. The smoke could be seen all over Bradford including Silsden, Baildon and Keighley.
During the early stages of the fire explosions could be heard as the fire intensified. Fire crews used the mill dam as an open water source to supply the fireground with water for the jets they used to extinguished the fire. Crews used 5 Large jets and 1 Ground Monitor along with 3 Breathing Apparatus sets. The fire itself for the most part was self contained in what appeared to be a basement area of the old mill. Police also attended along with CLM officers. Fire investigation is ongoing to attempt to find the cause of the fire.
Appliances attended from Fairweather Green, Bradford, Odsal, Shipley, Mirfield (Hose Layer and Support pump) but not required.

Fire in open - Proved to be a fire in the open involving a quantity of tyres, fire also spread to surrounding trees and bushes. Fire crews used 1 Hosereel jet but needed to Make up the incident for a further crew to assist. Water ferrying was used from a nearby hydrant to replenish the pump on the fireground. Police were also requested and attended the scene

Police and Ambulance crews responded to A Road Traffic Collision on Great Horton Road in Bradford shortly after 2pm today.

When emergency services arrived on scene it became apparent how serious the collision had been.
The crash near the junction of Windermere Terrace had left one male casualty with serious injuries.
A spokesman for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We received an emergency call at 2.19pm on Friday (19/06/2026) afternoon to a collision between a car and cyclist on Great Horton Road, Bradford.
"An ambulance, a specialist paramedic (critical care) and a team leader were dispatched to the incident."
One casualty was despatched to hospital from the scene. No fire crews were requested to attend this incident. Big shout out and thanks to the passer by who gave CPR until the ambulance crews arrived.

Update from House Fire Bradford 7 on 17/06/2026

Emergency services attended St Margaret’s Road, off Legrams Lane, on Wednesday night 17/06/2026.
Crime scene investigators along with Fire investigators were at the scene the following morning looking into the cause of the fire that caused the mans death.

West Yorkshire Police have said that the body of a 79-year-old man was found inside the property by fire fighters as they were tackling the incident with the male casualty being pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire had caused significant damage to the property including damage to the roof of the home. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be passed to the coroner.
