10ft single panel gate finally finished and installed

This gate was for a long standing client - and this gate project has been in the works for a long time but once the new pillars with steel reinforcing were in I finally got the go ahead.

It is the largest single panel gate I have made to date - I usually do driveway gates as a pair but this location meant a single gate was the only option.

All the components were hand forged in house here at Middle Row Forge and the gate was constructed using mortis and tenon joints, rivets and bolts.
The scroll work was all firewelded together and shaped using hammers and scrolling irons
The client wanted something straightforward but with flourishes of detail to make it special - in this I believe it is a success and both myself and the client are very happy with the results

A big thankyou goes out to Steve Jopling for his assistance when forging the long horizontal bars and also for assisting with the riveting together of the main frame of the gate.
A big thankyou also goes out to my brother Jamie for helping to transport and hang the gate in its final home.

Overall a very satisfying and successful project 💪🔥👍

Proud to present the new Middle Row Forge built belt grinder.

This is the mk1 prototype and will be staying here at the forge with me.

This particular machine has a 3hp 3 phase motor with vfd control.

Can accept various attachments - and currently can switch between a big wheel and a flat platen for flexibility.

The machine itself is rock solid and I consider it a very successful project

I've still got two more to build - one for a friend and another for the workshop.

If you are interested in acquiring one then please don't hesitate to get in touch as if enough interest is shown I would be happy to make up some more as self build kits.

A whole bundle of stuff heading off to it's new home in the Czech Republic - not often I send stuff outside of the UK so lovely to receive such an order.

Took a bit of time to modify one of my hand forged axe heads - I usually leave them with a forge finish but this time I did some file and punch work because I had a little spare time to experiment. I also wet rubbed most of the forge scale off using some fine emery paper to give it the "old but well maintained" look.
