📻✨ We’re Back in the Studio! ✨📻

Great news! From Monday 1st September, BHR Radio will be returning to live programming from our studios at the Princess of Wales Hospital. 🎙️🎶

A huge thank you to all our listeners for your support and patience while essential maintenance work was carried out. 💙

We can’t wait to bring you live shows, requests, and shoutouts directly from the heart of the hospital once again.

With roofing works soon coming to end at The Princess of Wales we are making plans to get back into our studios and increase our live studio based output. This means that you should start seeing some more friendly faces occupying our studios in the coming months as we gradually move back in!

We'd like to thank the estates teams and contractors carrying out the work for being so accommodating with us, allowing us to gain access to our studios to carry out essential works ensuring that we remain on air 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

This also means that we will shortly be able to commence recruitment of new volunteers. We're working hard behind the scenes to ensure that our onboarding and training program is ready, allowing us to begin our recruitment campaign in the coming months!

Today we remember BHR Volunteer Alan Butler on his birthday. Alan was a much loved volunteer and person who we sadly lost last year. Alan will always be remembered by his BHR Family and we send our love to his family today x 💛🩷🩵

We are extremely pleased to announce that our longest serving volunteer is returning to the airwaves!

Join Arthur this Thursday (tomorrow) from 19:00 where he'll be playing tunes from the shows, musicals and inviting you, the listener, to guess what film or musical the song comes from!

"Arthur is our longest serving member, and his programmes have been a significant part of the character of this stations output for over three decades.

Each show will play three 'Guess the Show tunes features' ranging from musicals like Les Miserables to films like Top Gun.

It's fantastic to have him back where he belongs!"

It was great to catch up with our colleagues from hospital radio stations across Wales and the West Country earlier today, as BGM hosted the May Wales & West Hospital Radio get-together.

We had a fantastic day sharing experiences, knowledge, and stories. Alongside a brilliant presentation from our guest speaker, former BBC and Swansea Sound presenter, Lyn Morgan, we also gave our fellow stations a sneak peek at our brand-new Studio 1 – which we’re excited to officially launch in the coming months.

It was inspiring to see so many passionate radio colleagues, and we can’t wait for the next get-together!
