Bridlington School closed today...

Due to severe weather conditions making travel unsafe and opening of the site unsafe, we have taken the difficult decision to close Bridlington School today Monday 5th January 2026.

With compacted snow turning to ice due to freezing temperatures and further snow overnight and more snow forecast today, travel to school will be unsafe and we are also unable to open the site in a safe manner despite our best efforts. Many of our staff travel from a distance and are impacted by snow. The current conditions mean they are unable to reach the school safely.

The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and given the circumstances, it is not possible to open the school safely today.

Students will be directed to home learning on Sam Learning, Sparks and Teams. Further details about school work for the day will be sent in a separate message via Arbor to students and parents / carers directly.

Should you require any help please message do email the school on [email protected] or message on the Arbor app.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Our Story

Run by experienced professional broadcasters and local businessmen, Bridlington Gold is the new digital radio station serving the town of Bridlington and its surrounding villages. Broadcasting on line 24 hours a day and playing a carefully selected blend of classic hits from the 1960's to the present day.

The aim of the station as well as entertaining is to provide the community with local news and information along with local features and interviews. The radio station also provides a platform for local voluntary, charitable and non-profit making organisations to promote their fundraising events and activities, as well as giving local businesses a way to advertise their products and services.
