For myself, as a vocalist; this is like the motherlode. In the ranks of all time greats, Freddie, Elvis, Frank, Steve Perry is often forgotten. But this performance shows that he is truly one of the greatest. This performance inspired me to perform, and as I suffer from anxiety now and then, I often play it to psyche myself up before a gig. It’s 1981 and Journey are rocking Houston, Texas. The band are at their peak, and frontman Steve Perry knows it. He’s at ease onstage in front of the huge crowd, and he starts singing the band’s newly-released hit “Don't Stop Believin'”. Back in those days, no Auto-Tune was needed and Perry sings the song so effortlessly, in a way that many fans think was even better than the studio recording. The audience didn't have camera phones to record the performance with, so they were completely engrossed in this epic live show that has still managed to rack up over 276 million views many years later on YouTube. Absolutely stunning night at the Pack Horse Inn, Royston for our talent showcase! I hosted EIGHT wonderfully talented vocalists/musicians including young up and coming faces Skyla Challinor and Aiden White And some thoroughbread warhorses like Andy Lowe , Dave, Rob, John and the wonderful Jane!! And even a comedy special from Martin Beadnell !!

Seriously, great beer, great conversation and an evening packed from 8pm till 11pm with quality local talent, we truly are the only place to be on a Tuesday night in good old Barnsley!!

What a moment for our special town, this success belongs to all our members, past and present. It also belongs to all our volunteers, supporters and those who have helped us along the way, you all know who you are. We have had a life-changing experience here in Hull, and will keep it in our hearts for the rest of our lives. We’ve made so many friends from across the world and renewed and strengthened existing bonds within our own choir.

Rehearsals start again tomorrow - a moment to celebrate together but a chance to kick on to greater heights, why stop here?
