Surrey Rocks presents the ultimate beauty guide for men, women and children this Summer. As the sun begins to shine and temperatures rise, your skincare deserves a seasonal upgrade too. Whether you are beach-hopping, travelling or simply being outdoors, high temperatures, UV exposure and humidity are all factors that affect your skin’s health. But with us, you are in luck, because four of Surrey’s top health & beauty experts have shared their go-to advice, and we are rounding it all up in this exclusive guide for you.
HYDRATION IS NON-NEGOTIABLE
Hot weather leads to fluid loss through sweat, and your skin can quickly become dehydrated. Make sure to keep those water levels topped up by drinking at least 2 litres of water a day. If you are succumbing to a few Summer nights out drink a glass of water between each alcoholic drink so you do not become too dehydrated. As well as drinking plenty of water use topical hydrators like hyaluronic acid to keep skin plump and supple.
SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY (YES, EVEN ON CLOUDY DAYS)
UV damage is cumulative and can lead to premature ageing, pigmentation and even skin cancer. Broad-spectrum SPF is your first line of defence. Always carry a travel-size SPF in your bag for reapplication. Don’t forget the lips and ears – they’re common spots for sunburn and are often overlooked. Powder or spray SPFs make reapplying over make-up easy.
For daily protection, lightweight sunscreens like La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50+ provide reliable, broad-spectrum defence, while SPF mists and powders, including Supergoop! Refreshing Mist and Colorescience Brush-On Shield, make top-ups effortless throughout the day.
KEEP IT FRESH & LIGHT
The importance of your daily skincare routine cannot be emphasised enough! So, make sure to take care of your skin with lightweight cleansers such as CeraVe Foaming Cleanser, La Roche-Posay Toleriane, or Avène’s face products such as Gentle Cleansing Milk or Foam Wash. These will help keep your skin purified and clear, without stripping moisture.
