Ello. Been a while, eh? Sorry for being quiet but been busy wrangling with the PPL database and trying to understand what mechanical rights actually means. Who knew running a label could be so fun-packed? Fortunately, we've also been getting so excited about some new bands that we thought it about time we put another Goo do on.
So here it is - Goo Showcase number actually-not-quite-sure, back at our beloved The Green Door Store on Weds 25th November, featuring...
Not Richard & Her Majesty - Death-glam doom-wop eucatastrophe from Brighton led by Rich Fownes. Every song is a diary of personal, professional, sexual, financial and gender ruin. And in our experience, every show is a joyous explosion of 60s sunshine pop chaos not to be missed.
The Mink - Formed from the soup of East Anglia's music scene in 2023 after catching glimpses of each other playing in other bands and thinking "hell yeah, man". Expect neo-psych that's dreamy, groovy, riffy and flutey in equal measure.
That Band Called Susan - Noise punk duo from Hertfordshire making a raw and chaotic racket. Think Shellac having a sort of play fight with Mclusky about what "post-hardcore" really means.
Lana Death Ray - Psych-gaze five piece from Brighton building quite the buzz thanks to their infectious, fuzzed up epic sound with some of the best hair around.
Get yer tickets from See Tickets at just nine quid which is a bargain two twenty five a band. With these lot all making such a joyous racket, it should be a night to remember.
More Goo news to follow soon - we have actually been doing quite a lot behind the scenes...
