I’ve enjoyed wearing my 1st AD hat making schedules and call sheets for a dark comedy short about the lack of help after diagnosis ✍️

The very first call sheet I did was made using a template from a 1st AD friend - I decided to create a quick guide to call sheets incase you don’t have any industry friends!

👉 Save this guide for future projects, follow for more handy industry tips, and connect with me Eva Wilshere on LinkedIn to follow along

Been loving my time as a judge for a filmmaking competition 🎬

There are so many brilliant storytellers! The very first film I watched was shot in Brighton (home turf!) which was a surprise as Short and Sweet is based out of Yorkshire!

Currently working through a slight backlog… I can only watch them at home, and I’ve been away. Now I’ve got between now and 13th August to get through 30 films before I’m off again. Wish me luck 🍿✨

Oh, and yes – one film really was a full five minutes on tractors...

I signed on as 1st AD for as soon as I read the script.

Hard-relate to the protagonist Rayn, who like myself, was diagnosed autistic as an adult—and the aftermath was super frustrating. The “help” you’re promised doesn’t seem to exist. Charities? Defunded. Support? A worksheet and a shrug.

This film doesn’t just speak to that experience—it laughs at it! It reimagines Hans Asperger as a drag queen (yes, really), and uses dark humour to explore how broken the system is. It’s dark, weird, and has something to say—just like every project I love working on.
If you’ve ever felt left behind by the system—or just love smart, darkly funny storytelling—please consider donating to help us get this film made (Fundraiser link in stories and bio) 💸

After watching Streaming Wars, I realised my South Park blog post needed an update!

It’s just in time for you to check out the new season - the debut episode takes the p*ss out of America’s president, making him a foriegner with a micro p***s who gets into bed with Satan!

Updated blog post available on my wordpress now - link in bio 🔗

I’m setting myself a challenge: to write a “Best 3” blog post about TV genres that aren’t my usual obsessions. That means no Sci-Fi, no Fantasy, no Animation, and no Sitcoms - genres that for me are often fueled by nostalgia and personal bias.

Nostalgia can heavily influence our attachment to television, so this exercise is all about stepping outside my comfort zone. I’ll be evaluating these shows purely on their merits - focusing on structure, pacing, character development and performances, cinematography, and storytelling.

But which genre shall I dissect!? Vote in the poll on our Instagram for the one you’d like to see a blog post about and also vote in the additional poll in our Instagram stories for three more genres to choose from!

ManBearPig is real — and so is climate dread. 🌍🔥

With South Park returning this July, I revisited one of its eeriest (and eerily relevant) double episodes: Time To Get Cereal and Nobody Got Cereal? It’s not just a bizarre horror spoof, it’s a mirror on climate change and generational guilt.

Sound familiar?
👉 Read the full breakdown on the blog — link in bio.

With South Park (1997 – present, Trey & Stone) returning this July, there’s no better time to revisit Nobody Got Cereal? — the ManBearPig episode that stopped being satire the minute we a…

I’m doing a self imposed writers retreat Thursday - Sunday, to finish sitcom project Somewhen BCE, start transferring The Year Dot into stage-play format and to write a comedy monologue or sketch for WWTB.

Or that was the plan…

Unfortunately I can’t help but take work when I’m offered it and find it hard to keep the time free.

I was meant to get away for a week to write in a new space, but have to wait until April 1st for that now.

I realise it’s not the end of the world and I’m so grateful to have a chance to take a solo trip this year. It might just take until April to do the majority of my writing!

I’m also especially grateful for the who have agreed to give feedback on Somewhen BCE (for what feels like the 200,096th time!) which will 🤞jump start my creativity 🤞
