🎹New Romantic, ponderous and thoughtful piano music coming soon!

Good bye procrastination,
Hello 'Wondering Paths'

After 3-4 years of a new piece in my head, I've finally found the time to get the first draft finished and it's sounding good.

This piece is my longest piano solo, with 3 movements.

I will be using one movement of this piece as the basis of a which I've also just begun working.

Going to be a busy 🎄Christmas getting all this done, but hope to share this new music with you all soon.

Looking forward to this event. Aurora Trio play my piece so well. See you there.

Looking forward to this event. Aurora Trio play my piece so well. See you there.

The HORSHAM MUSIC CIRCLE’s concert on Saturday 29th November at 4.30pm in the Causeway Barn sees the return of the Harp and Flute Duo of HEATHER WRIGHTON and EMMA HALNAN this time joined by MARIE DE BRY on Viola to form the AURORA TRIO. Their unusual instrumentation and expressive style promise a captivating close to the Autumn series. The players are all respected soloists and chamber musicians. Individually, they have built impressive careers as recitalists, orchestral musicians and passionate educators. They perform the Elegiac Trio by Bax, Ibert’s Deux Interludes, Ravel’s Sonatine and the Sonata for flute, viola and harp by Debussy with other works by Brotons, Andriessen, Paul Patterson and Martyn Adams. The Aurora Trio offers a distinctive blend of timbres—at once sparkling, mellow, and richly textured. Their remarkable sense of colour, character and ensemble finesse makes for an ideal concert for a winter afternoon. We look forward to seeing you—and to welcoming new audience members discovering the joy of live music.

Love expressive piano music? Watch Temptation of Doubt performed by Karen Kingsley at a recent New Music Brighton concert.

Composed in 2022, this piece begins with a simple idea that grows into a journey of self-doubt, perseverance, and triumph. Karen plays the original version—just above Grade 8 at tempo. Two easier arrangements are also available.

Hope you enjoy the performance as much as I did live!

Wychavon Festival of Brass 2025

Fourth Section. Brighton and Hove City Brass, conducted by Rom Stanko.

1. La Rejouissance by Handel. What an exciting start to begin without a conductor! A lovely bright sound across the band.
2. I, Daedalus, by Andrea Price. (Inventor in the Tower). Fitting tempo and manageable for the band with the interjecting semiquavers. Good dynamic contrasts, building appropriately into a final crescendo. Lovely smooth bass and euphonium lined phrases.
3. Toccato in D Minor, Bach. Wow - the percussion section had already captured my interest in the previous piece. Martyn Adams, this was outstanding. I‘ve known higher section bands not being able to play this as well as you have today. Amazing! Congratulations!
4. Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell. What a lovely balance you have, Brighton and Hove City Brass. Well played indeed. All parts complimented each other and blended beautifully.
5. Let Me Try Again by Caravelli. Liz Price takes to the stand to deliver a beautifully rounded cornet solo. There is so much emotion and colour in this rendition. Very well done!
6. It Don‘t Mean A Thing by Duke Ellington. Lovely choreography. Excellent kit again - lovely fills. Excellent playing across all stands. Well done everyone. I enjoyed that.
