A mere year and whatever since our last audio episode, 'Austin County' is now listenable via a link from our fun and informative FuCu website.
As ever, we've also chucked in a brief introduction and a little discussion at the end.
A highly sophisticated piece of historical fiction, Austin County is a profound 'world upside down' satire, wittily refracting the 19th Century novel through a feminist looking-glass.
But mainly it's a shameless excess of crude double-entendres, straight out of the gutter.
'Austin County' is produced by genius sound and music magician Teddy Brown, and stars Dr. Helen Grime, Liz Downes and Megan Bay Dorman. Written by Simon Messingham. The guilty. It's too late to back out now.
Enjoy here:
As Simon was writing these audio comedy scripts, he realised he was becoming far too literary and tasteful. So he wrote ‘Austin County’, a lowbrow, lowest common denominator, lowest everything, reworking of a 19th century romance.
