Come gather! Mr. Poetivist is flying over from Accra to mark the launch of his debut album “kumbaya - the elegy of distant relatives”. One of Ghana's leading young literary voices, Mr. Poetivist gives a special performance at The Rose Hill Weaving poetry and spoken word with a live cinematic soundtrack courtesy of Abraham Moughrabi.

In an era where mental health has become a vital public discourse “kumbaya”, inspired by and dedicated tothe profound loss of Poetivist’s brother figure to su***de, steps forward as both art and advocacy, paying tribute to love, grief and family trauma, reflecting the vulnerability of time, and navigating the many forms of loss.

South African Music Award winning songwriter Pilani Bubu brings two of her most potent and critically acclaimed works to the stage: Folklore Chapter 2: Ekuseni and Nay’Indaba. This live experience is a carefully curated journey through ancestral wisdom, spiritual inheritance, and the pulse of modern-day South Africa — told through music that is rich, raw, and rhythmically transcendent.

In Ekuseni (translated: at dawn), Pilani returns to the sacred knowledge of her lineage, exploring the rites, rituals, and resilience passed down through generations. Each song is a ceremony, blending folk music, spoken word, and soulful jazz into a reflective meditation on cultural legacy. With a voice that glows with clarity and emotional depth, she conjures a dawn of remembrance — honouring the stories, gifts, and energies of her ancestors.
