✨ GIG ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

📅 Saturday 13th September 2025
🕰️ Doors at 7pm
At where we belong.

Inspired by the symbiotic relationship that forms lichen, Lichon’s music is created using the biodata of plants, fungi, and lichen, alongside field recordings and improvised instrumentation on violin, violin, guitar and synths. The pitch, tempo and structures are all directly informed by biodata, culminating in a meditative exploration of our environment and our place within it. Each live performance is unique and immersive, exploring various sonic landscapes, largely dependent on the activity of the particular plants that join the duo on stage. The music is motivated by ecological, technological and social changes, with responses expressing vulnerability, power, destructiveness and peace. Lichon’s sound world is a reflection upon and response to the landscapes and intricate patterns found in flora and fauna. It encourages a shift in how humans think, how we relate to nature and how we are connected to this earth, our home.

R.dyer combines anything from found sounds, synth, musical saw, saxophone, nose-flute, folk harp, household objects, and light up shoelaces to create looped performances which move from baroque-pop to mesmerising soundscapes via acapella lullabies and stories about dogs in trainers. A regular performer in their home-town of Brighton, they’ve supported Sarah Angliss, Porridge Radio, Ana da Silva & PHEW!, Alabaster dePlume, Haiku Salut and Richard Dawson, as well being one of three early career artists to be awarded an Emergent Commission by Drake music in 2021.

+ .fins
Cederick Knox & Grow Fins will also be presenting a one-off collaboration featuring prepared piano, guitar loops and samples. They assure us that the attention of all those in attendance will be pilfered liberally, and none shall swoon.

✨️ NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT ✨️
🗓 Saturday 28th June, 2025
⏳️ Doors 7PM

Ceremonial Laptop and Nocturne present a triple headliner featuring: Pillow, Ben Roberts and Ceann Capaill, in a night of meditative strings and improvisation.

PILLOW - A contemporary classical group performing the dark and cinematic compositions of James Osler. Sighting influence from artists such as Jonny Greenwood, Harold Budd, Nick Drake, Max Richter and Olivier Messiaen.

Composer and cellist BEN ROBERTS' visionary new project 'Vi****or' harnesses sacred frequencies to elevate wellbeing and inspire a creative revolution.
Vi****or’s seven tracks correspond to the body’s seven chakras, sketching a beautiful cello improvisation around a core home frequency.

CEANN CAPAILL is a shape-shifting music project led by Irish multi-instrumentalist Declan Haughian. Born as a studio experiment, each song grows from immersive collaboration - sometimes lasting days, sometimes weeks - with a revolving cast of musicians, artists, videographers, and writers.

✨ NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT ✨
📅 Thursday 27th March 2025
🕰️ 7pm doors

Ceremonial Laptop returns once more to The Rose Hill to present a triple-header of formal ambiguities. Imprognosticable meanderings and obnoxious hooting abounds.

FURROWED
Furrowed (producer / sound artist Dylan Beattie) ‘tattoos sound’ directly to blank vinyl records as multiple pickups trace evolving grooves. Using a handheld audio device he directly inscribes signals from tone generators, resampling the disc surface, environmental and other sounds. His unique performance approach creates unpredictable tones, rhythm and texture, whilst celebrating limitation in physical media.

VAN STONHOLDT
“guitar playing”
“i really don’t know how to describe other than guitar music”

NEW GARDENERS SOCIETY
A discontinuous sequence of thumps and murmurs from the longtime Ceremonial Laptop house band. Time passes. Dust motes are redistributed. Somewhere a serviette sits unused. Potentially music.
