Sometimes when it feels like things are falling apart, maybe they are actually coming together.

Maybe it’s a midlife crisis, or maybe it’s just me finally me becoming who I was always meant to be.

Either way, I am building a life I love, ways of earning that don’t leave me burnt out and turning my life around.

And hopefully along the way I will give you a little hope for what is possible.

We’ve got this team. I believe in us.

Number 5 is not money related but I genuinely think it makes such a difference to so many other areas of my life.

I’ve been putting a lot of these off, but I’m pretty much up to date with my work commitments now, so this is the week to start making forward progress and I know I’ll feel better for it.

Which of these would you find hardest, the budget, the number, or the Vinted pile?

It’s not just you.

I wish I had a solution for all of us.

I don’t, but I am determined to turn things around and will share everything I’m doing.

I think it’s so important that we keep the conversation going as there is a huge comfort in knowing that we’re not on our own.

Maybe the women who actually change their lives in this chapter are the ones who refuse to let go of the belief that they can.

The ones who decide they’re capable, long before the numbers agree with them.

I certainly do not have all the answers and if I’m honest, there are still days when I wonder if I’m just unhinged for thinking I can turn this around.

But what’s the alternative?

Because I think the difference between the women who stay stuck and the women who change everything, isn’t luck, or money, or starting younger. It’s the refusal to give up.

So girl to girl, if you’re still holding onto a version of your life you refuse to give up on, even when it looks delusional from the outside, I see you.

I’m choosing delusional optimism and cheering for us all.

This is a hill I will die on as a 45 year old, trying to earn as much money as possible so that I can fix my finances in one year, but still have the time to enjoy my life...

and that is that UGC is one of the best ways for women our age to bring in extra income and start earning money online.

If you have a phone and a willingness to give it a go, there is no reason that you can’t start earning money this way.

And I will shout about this to anyone who will listen because last January I first heard of UGC, but I only saw young, beautiful digital nomad types doing it, so I thought it wasn’t something that someone like me could do. And so I didn’t even try.

Six months later, essentially out of any other options, I decided I really had nothing to lose, and so set about giving it ago.

That first month I made about £500 and it is now my main source of income. And if I’d have just seen someone else like me doing it, I could’ve been doing it for 6 months longer.

It is really flexible, so works brilliantly around kids or other work commitments.

It’s fun and creative and it never gets old being sent stuff to try from cool brands.

And the best bit is, that unlike a lot of other ways of making money online, you don’t need to spend ages growing an audience, which means it can be pretty quick to start actually making some money.

Now, I appreciate that being on camera isn’t for everyone, and I’ll be sharing something else I have been trying in another video that doesn’t require you to film yourself, but if you’ve always quite liked the idea of making content, this is honestly a really good place to start.

Much like anything nowadays, there is loads of information available online about how to get started, but if you do want to know exactly the steps I took to go from knowing nothing to landing my first paid job, I documented everything that I did and put it together into a video roadmap so that you can just follow the same steps and save yourself some time.

I used to think that I was the only person at my stage of life, in this situation.

But since speaking up about it, I have realised that there are so many of us here, living a life entirely different to the one we thought we would have.

This isn’t a comeback story yet. I am still very much in the messy middle and figuring it all out as I go.

And if I’m honest, although there are days when I feel unstoppable, there are other days when it feels too much. Like there aren’t enough hours between the school run and figuring out what’s for dinner every day, for me to turn my life around and that maybe I just can’t fix this on my own.

But then I’ll get a DM or a comment from another woman, who’s navigating this too. Who can’t sleep for worrying about where the money is going to come from or who doesn’t know where to start with figuring out a way forward.

And it reminds me that none of us are alone and that maybe we will actually save each other.

We’ve got this team. I believe in us.

This might be a bit ‘woo’ but bear with me.

About a million years ago, back when I thought I was still happily married, I did a lot of work on my money mindset, taking a course and working with a coach.

If I’m honest, I have often wondered if that was the catalyst for a random set of events that eventually led to the end of my marriage. All of that is a story for another time, or maybe another place (hello Substack), but what I will say for now, is that changing my money mindset genuinely changed my life for the better at the time.

I went on to grow the business I had at the time to turning over close to half a million a year, and by some kind of miracle, in the rubble of what was my life, I found a way to buy the family home my ex was trying to sell from under me.

Now, if you’ve caught any of my recent videos, you’ll know that things have taken a bit of a dive since then, with the business going under and me losing everything I had trying to save it.

Fast forward to now and my pretty precarious financial position, and with me deciding to give myself a year to fix it, frankly, I am not ruling anything out.

These were little practices I put in place years ago when I was trying to change my life, and I really think they made a difference. So I’m bringing them back, and thought I’d share them with you.

I am a huge believer in mindset changing everything, so woo or not, they can’t hurt right?!
