Alright, full disclosure, I’m not an airsoft tech.

But when a good mate picks up a second-hand RIF and it dies after two games because the previous owner clearly didn’t show it any love… I can’t just sit back and watch. So here I am, diving in and trying to bring it back to life myself.

This is my first time cracking open a gearbox, and finding the gears basically glued together with grime was a shock. Gave everything a proper clean, swapped out the air nozzle and piston head (both absolutely ruined), rebuilt it… and the gears decided to snap a tooth on the test run. Love that for me. 😂

New gears are on order now, and with a bit of luck I’ll have this thing singing again in time for my next game day at First & Only – The Base CQC on 23rd November.

Stay tuned, either I revive it, or it becomes a very expensive wall ornament. 💀🔧
