A first look at series two of has arrived, just as Moonage Pictures wraps filming for the new installment at The Bottle Yard Studios and on location in Bristol (assisted by Bristol Film Office) and the West 🎬

Series one – which also based at The Bottle Yard Studios whilst filming in our region – was a big hit when it landed last Summer, becoming one of BBC iPlayer’s most watched titles with 16-24 years old and BBC Three’s highest rating drama since its relaunch.

In series two, Pip (Emma Myers) is determined to fix the fallout - and stay away from any more investigations - after solving the Andie Bell case. But a new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the ‘good girl’ she once was.

Based on Holly Jackson’s series of books, hashtag is produced by Moonage Pictures for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo.

The strongest year for our sector yet 👇
£46.6m! All the hard work from our Studio team and the Bristol Film Office is keeping Bristol at the top of its game for regional film and HETV production.
Productions want the full package when deciding where to film - studio, locations and crew - and we're genuinely proud to be the hub for such a talented community of regional professionals and companies doing world-class work at The Bottle Yard 👏👏👏

Our annual figures released today, show that the economic impact of filming on location in Bristol and at The Bottle Yard Studios rose by 55% last year to an estimated £46.6 million 📈✨

29 major film and High-End TV productions were assisted by Bristol Film Office and The Bottle Yard Studios throughout the 2024-25 financial year 🎬

It was also a year that saw more of Bristol's best-loved visitor destinations - like registered charities Underfall Yard and St Werburghs City Farm - directly benefit from income brought in by filming, after being connected to production teams by Bristol Film Office👏👏

Our Head of Film Laura Aviles says: “A 55% increase in just one year is outstanding. Not only are we seeing the number of productions opting to film in Bristol remain strong, we’re also seeing the size and length of those shoots increase. Thanks to the outstanding service from The Bottle Yard team and the gold standard of logistical liaison provided by the Film Office on location, productions are spending more time prepping and filming bigger, more ambitious shoots here. This is leading to more employment for regional freelancers and companies, and more local spend in the economy.

“It’s so rewarding to also see more of Bristol’s charities and community groups benefit from valuable new income streams by hiring their unique spaces out as locations, which we hope will in turn lead to further screen tourism benefits in future. With new releases like Young Sherlock, The Seven Dials Mystery, The Dream Lands, Inheritance and The Forsytes on the horizon – as well as others still under wraps – it’s clear that our studio, locations, crew and companies are keeping Bristol at the top of its game, as one of the most successful regional cities for scripted filming in the UK today.”
