Romance, revelry and revenge.... Disney+ has unveiled the full trailer for the return of Rivals Season 2, offering a taste of what to expect from the rest of the series when it returns with a three-episode premiere on Wednesday 11 November 👠

As the return to the scandal and excess of 1987 edges closer, the residents of Rutshire reunite for more revelry, rivalry and romance, but as the stakes ramp-up they must face tragedy, heartbreak, backstabbing, and betrayal head on.

Mission well and truly accomplished Disney+, we're on tenterhooks!

Production of the hit Hulu Original series, based on Dame Jilly Cooper’s beloved Rutshire Chronicles, is proudly based at The Bottle Yard Studios’ TBY2 facility, with 95% of the locations featured in the series filmed within a 30-mile radius across Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, all supported by the fantastic network of Film Offices across the West of England 🎬

Excellent news for the film and TV industry in our region👏

On a day where we welcomed the new £4.5 million Production Fund that we hope will turbocharge homegrown and incoming production across Bristol and the West, our Manager Adela Straughan also had the pleasure of facilitating a very special tour of The Bottle Yard Studios for senior figures and Councillors from Somerset Council and South Gloucestershire Council.

Local authorities across the West play a vital role in supporting the film and TV sector - particularly through the often overlooked work of Film Office liaison staff and key departments like Highways and Parking. Together, they help attract filming, and smooth the way for Location teams to run busy shoots on the ground as easily as possible. It's what keeps us and our stunning SW locations competitive 🎬

And the hub for so many of the productions filming across multiple areas in the region, is very often Bristol's very own Bottle Yard. Take new film Bad Apples starring Oscar-nominee Saoirse Ronan (opening in cinemas tomorrow) as a prime example. With production base and set builds at the Studios, filming took place on location across Bristol, Bath and Somerset, all with Film Office support.

Together our region's offering is stronger, and Councils understand that each shoot brings economic and cultural benefits to a local area. We always enjoy showing decision makers around the Studios so that they can better the important role it plays as the major hub for the South West's film industry.

Described by Empire magazine as "darkly hilarious and politically sharp - as satisfying as a crisp Granny Smith," Bad Apples starring Oscar-nominee Saoirse Ronan opens in UK cinemas today 🍏

We were delighted to host Pulse Films, part of Vice Studios, for the making of this exciting West country-set feature at The Bottle Yard. Basement sets were built in our Studios, and Bristol, Bath and Somerset locations also took centre stage with each area's Film Office playing a key supporting role.

Directed by Jonatan Etzler, Bad Apples stars four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan (The Outrun, Brooklyn) as Maria, a primary school teacher doing her best to inspire a class of 10-year-olds but stifled by one unruly and chaotic student. With her career in question and the child’s behaviour spiralling, Maria makes a series of questionable decisions that lead to her accidentally taking and locking this “bad apple” in her home. She tries desperately to backtrack, but when the class starts flourishing and the staff and parents are thrilled with the improvement, she finds herself in a very complicated predicament.

A Bristol studio is hoping to become a southwest powerhouse to match Liverpool and Manchester as a leading filming location after hosting Disney’s Rivals, Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials and the Saoirse Ronan film Bad Apples.

Bottle Yard Studios embarked on a £12 million expansion plan, funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, which has helped it to secure 115 projects since its 11th stage opened five years ago, according to an independent report
