Before I go any further – I’m not anti-selfies!
I love seeing selfies in Stories and behind-the-scenes posts and they can help connect with the human behind the business.

Let’s not ghost our businesses this summer. 😭😅
Because I know so many of us want the same thing – to actually enjoy this gorgeous weather with our loved ones and the last time we want to worry about is if we’ve posted on Instagram that week.

I feel you! Even as a content marketer I want to switch off sometimes too. But unfortunately, this doesn’t magically hapen *sigh*

So here’s the plan - starting Monday create two week’s of content at a time (for that week and one extra) - and by mid-July you’ll have covered yourself all the way into September. 🙌

An extra hour here and there now for a MUCH more relaxed summer later? I’ll take that trade every time. 💜

Because what you don’t want is to come back in September feeling like your business has completely gone cold and you’re rebuilding from scratch. 😬 It’s a hard enough time as it is!

So this is your reminder that future you needs a little help from current you. 😘

Every time you leave the house, do this. 👇

Film one 10-second clip on your phone.
That’s it! 👏

Maybe that’s…
☕ grabbing a coffee.
🖋️ a client meeting.
💻 Opening your laptop somewhere nice.
🚂 your journey there
☀️ A sunny walk.

I mean – you do not even need to leave the house for this!
🖥️ Film your desk setup
🪴or watering your plants
📱 or even just replying to emails!

All of these clips add up to great “B-roll” — those short “background” clips that you probably scroll through every day. Basically, any video that isn’t you talking directly to the camera.

So instead of scrambling to film something when you need it. You already have a little bank saved in your camera roll, ready to go.
Bonus points for adding all these clips into a B-roll folder!

And you’ll end up with favourites that you can reuse many times over (promise no-one will either notice or care!).

And if filming feels awkward or uncomfortable in public, try this:
👉 Film one quick clip when you first arrive somewhere… then put your phone away and enjoy the moment.

Over time, it becomes second nature.

Unpopular opinion: Your lack of consistency probably isn’t why you struggle to show up online.

So many service providers are trying to market themselves using awkward selfies that don’t actually reflect the quality of their work.

So every post feels harder than it should.
You sit down to create content and end up:
🫠 faffing around in Canva
😳 overthinking everything
🫣 or avoiding posting altogether

Because the real problem usually isn’t a lack of discipline, motivation or consistency.
I know you WANT to show up.
I know you KNOW you should be.

But it’s maybe because you’re feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable with the visuals you have.
