INTRO POST: “Parenting Isn’t a Sacred Cow — It’s a Mess We Need to Talk About.”
Here’s a taboo for you:
Parenting isn’t the untouchable holy subject everyone pretends it is.
Half of society acts like you’re not allowed to say a damn thing unless you’ve raised 12 angelic prodigies who say “please” and never cry in Tesco.
Let’s just tell the truth, shall we?
Most parents are doing their best WHILE carrying their own unhealed childhood crap — and then acting confused when their kids start showing the same symptoms.
It’s not evil.
It’s not failure.
It’s just reality.
But here’s the real taboo:
Kids aren’t messed up because they’re “dramatic”… they’re messed up because nobody ever taught their parents how to actually talk to them.
Parents talk AT kids.
Parents perform perfection FOR kids.
Parents hide their mistakes FROM kids.
And then everyone wonders why the house feels like a silent war zone.
Meanwhile the kids are out here reading the room like Sherlock, absorbing every tone, every sigh, every unresolved argument, every generational ghost still haunting the wallpaper.
Talking to children is considered “too soft.”
Apologising is seen as weakness.
Explaining emotions is “too much.”
Asking what THEY feel is “parenting wrong.”
Nah.
The real wrong is pretending.
This isn’t about blaming parents or worshipping kids.
It’s about breaking the stupid cycle where everyone suffers in silence because nobody wants to admit being human. 🤷♀️
So here’s the vibe of this series:
We’re ripping the plaster off the parenting mythology.
We’re talking honestly.
We’re calling ourselves out.
We’re calling the culture out.
We’re breaking the silence that screws everybody over.
This is the conversation most families avoid.
Which is exactly why it needs to be had.
Welcome to the uncomfortable truth.
Let’s drag it into the light together.
