‘Almost There, Almost Broken’ (NXS005) by Corgiat is out today!

Across five tracks, drone layers, recurring melodic motifs, ambient fragments and digital psychedelia converge within an organic and heterogeneous musical language, at times surfacing as sudden deviations and hallucinatory apparitions.
Corgiat combines voice and digital synthesis, including physical modelling, and over-processes them, reshaping their character. Throughout the EP, he blends fragile, lo-fi textures with heavier and distorted components, preserving traces of the transformations: residual noise, artefacts and imperfections become a defining part of the sonic imagery, with bright elements emerging in the half-light of shadowed settings.

Welcoming Parini Secondo to the NXS series! The mixtape presented by Sissj Bassani is an audio-diary composed of sound clips recorded in a lo-fi style during Parini Secondo’s tour. The tracks focus on the accidental music the dancers encountered during their travels, often music created unintentionally by sounds arising from everyday events. Sissj’s perspective, mostly hidden, captures the voices of her mates - Martina Piazzi, Camilla Neri, Francesca Pizzagalli e Camilla Ferrazzi - in everyday, spontaneous conversations, which serve as a common thread connecting the diverse sounds collected.

Martenot - ‘Aposematic’ (NXS004) is out today!

‘Aposematic’ is Martenot’s second EP, following ‘Sfilate Spaziali’ (2022). Five tracks built through digital synthesis draw on EDM and digital pop lead synth timbres, unfolding through minimal structures, iterative melodic patterns, and recursive variations. At the heart of the record, aseptic, artificial soundscapes and emotional charge overlap, oscillating between digital euphoria and suspension. The title invokes the biological phenomenon of aposematism — the strategy by which some organisms signal their toxicity through vivid coloration — and translates its logic into a tension between seduction and danger, between ostentation and vulnerability.
