An action-packed weekend over the Bank Holiday, record-buying road trip based around playing the Roots Corner at Shambala Festival on Friday night. Really enjoyed playing, and great to hang out (even though briefly) with old friends and make a few new ones! 339 miles travelled, and a boot full of new records for the shop - and a few for me, of course! Massive thanks to Roger (my partner in Wanted Records) for tour managing / driving / troubleshooting / digging. Great to finally meet too. Shouts to all the shops we visited!

A few interesting (for me, anyway!) gigs coming up. This Friday I shall be playing at the Roman Baths in Bath, as part of their Summer Lates series. No idea what I’ll be playing there yet, it’s an opportunity to play a few things that don’t get an outing that often - though the temptation to play purely Latin music in a Roman setting is obviously a strong one. On Saturday I shall be at the excellent Elmer’s Arms in Bristol playing 60s moddy psychy garagey things for Purple Heart Surgery. The following Friday it’ll be a return to African and Latin bangers for a late night slot at the Roots Corner stage at Shambala Festival. Always fun to switch it around a bit!

Looking forward to a couple of different gigs this weekend- playing ska and rocksteady at Ashton Court Mansion in Bristol for a sublime revival session with some very serious other people on the bill, then off to Wales with Boom Operator on Saturday for the Big Love Festival. Heard loads of great things, but never made it before!
