We were thrilled to see our Executive Producer, Tiffany Donnelly, invited to present the Best Director award at 2025 Graduate Screening.

Supporting the next generation of creative talent is something we care deeply about at Happy Hour, and it was an honour for Tiff to be part of such a special evening.

A huge congrats to all the graduates, and especially to this year’s winner of Best Director, , who won with a fantastic short film called ‘The Years Between Us’.

🐶 New year, new work! 😺
We’re thrilled to share our latest 30” TVC for Animal Friends Pet Insurance! On air now, this latest ad is the first to embrace the brand’s updated visual identity.

We’ve been partnering with the wonderful in-house team on their TVCs for the past 13 years, supporting the evolution of the brand from creating their original claymation commercials, to live action, to this latest new blend of live action with animation.

All shot in a single day in Bristol, the ad features footage and stills of real Animal Friends colleagues and their pets, celebrating the special relationships that exist between pets and their owners. This is balanced with the brand’s unique offering to their animal-loving customers – that every policy enables them to give back millions to animal welfare and conservation charities 🙌

We love working with traditional techniques, as demoed by key members of our crew lending a hand to physically animate the National Trust gift shop characters.

Utilising the best of traditional animation with the flexibility of modern digital comping, we brought these animals to life in a wonderful celebration of Christmas.

Sometimes you need to add a bit of extra sparkle to a scene.
We digitally animated hand-cut felt hearts and five different felt snowflakes (as well as some extra characters) to create a hybrid of real-life textures and digital animation. This resulted in a high quality production that was relatively quick to deliver, with more flexibility to achieve the final edit.

🎄Miniature Set Builds - What You See vs What We See🎄

We’ve worked with the multi-talented Michael and his expertise in miniatures for as long as we can remember. Miniature set builds come in handy for all sorts of projects. From animations to TV commercials and feature films, miniatures are a great way to transport us to another time, location, or even world – all from within our very own studio.

Here you can see how we’ve created a miniature model of the National Trust gift shop, visited by Robin, in their latest digital campaign.

⚡ More new work this month ⚡
We’re proud to share our latest TVC for Christian Aid, produced in collaboration with the brilliant team at Aha Consultancy.

This was a real creative process between our two agencies, involving an extensive update to the existing ‘Kodak Memories’ ad, to create a brand new ad for Christmas 2024 - a critical fundraising time for charities.

With Aha developing the creative direction and scripts and Happy Hour producing all aspects of the TVC, this moving new advert inspired by the message of Away in a Manger was a joy to work on 🙌
