Our Story
Bristol Academy of Media is based at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College’s WISE Campus, offering innovative and creative media education at Levels 1-5 for young people across the greater Bristol area.
If you have a love for film, journalism or media, then this is the place for you. BAM students can study in a variety of media disciplines including Film & TV Production, Sports Media, and Animation & VFX, with a focus on producing high-standard media content.
BAM teaching focuses on practical skills, supported by a range of academic areas. Our students are continually honing their practical skills in camerawork, sound, lighting, editing and visual effects, and they work as industry professionals every year, either on professional work placements, or on film commissions for real clients. We aim to give students a taste of life in the industry, with all that demands.

WISE TV Studio
Professional quality Edit Suite, offering Final Cut Pro & Adobe Creative Cloud
Huge array of audio-visual equipment (inc. broadcast-quality cameras, rigs, lights and sound equipment), all bookable by our students
4 high-spec Mac study spaces, comprising of 60 computers
BAM has helped many young media enthusiasts go on to make their name professionally. Many of our students progress on to prestigious media universities, and successfully pursue work in their chosen profession.
