Creamy Champorado

Ingredients:

5 cups water
1 cup glutinous rice
4 pieces tablea chocolate / 1 Cup Cocoa Powder
½ cup sugar
½ cup evaporated milk

Cooking Instructions:

-In a deep pot over medium heat, add water and bring to a boil.

-Add rice and stir to distribute. Lower heat and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until rice begins to expand.

-Add tablea and cook, stirring regularly, until chocolate has melted.

-Add sugar and continue to cook, stirring regularly, until dissolved.

-Continue to cook until rice is translucent and liquid is reduced to desired consistency.

-Ladle onto bowls, drizzle with evaporated milk and serve hot.

Beef Mechado

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs beef for stew
- juice of half a lemon
- 1/4 cup good dark soy sauce I like Silver Swan, found in Asian markets
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 3 cloves garlic minced or crushed
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1 teaspoon fish sauce (patis)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 cups water
- several dashes of Tabasco
- 2-3 cups beef stock
- 4 bay leaves
- 2 red and green bell pepper sliced
- 2 potatoes peeled and cut into 2 inch chunks
- 2 carrots peeled and chopped in 2 inch pieces

Cooking Instructions
- Marinate beef in soy sauce, lemon, and black pepper for at least 30 minutes.
- Brown garlic in oil and set aside.
- Brown beef, working in batches if necessary (reserve the marinade).
- Return beef to pot, add onions and season with fish sauce (patis).
- When the onions are wilted, add tomato sauce and water and stir.
- After about two minutes, add Tabasco, beef stock, 2 tablespoons of reserved marinade, bay leaves and bell pepper.
- Let come to a boil, then lower heat to simmer. Add reserved garlic. Cover the pot with the lid, and let it stew for about 1 1/2 hours (see notes), stirring occasionally.
- When the meat is tender, add potatoes and carrots. Continue cooking until the potatoes are fork tender, about 20 minutes more.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over rice.

Beef Gyudon
Recipe
Beef Slices - 1kg
White Onions - 3pcs
Sugar - 3 tsp
Mirin - 3 tbsp
Soy Sauce - 3 tbsp
Beef Stock - 1 cup

Cooking Instruction
Heat the neutral oil in a large skillet over medium high heat, and cook the sliced onions for about 10 minutes, stirring often.

Add the beef and sugar, and cook until the beef is slightly browned. Add the mirin, soy sauce, and stock. Bring to a simmer, and cook for about 10-15 minutes to reduce the stock into a thin sauce. Taste for seasoning, and add a little more soy sauce if needed.

Meanwhile, heat another couple tablespoons of oil in a cast iron or non-stick skillet. Cook the eggs sunny-side up. You can cook them in batches if needed. The yolks should still be runny!

Have you tried this way of Cooking Nilaga?

Welcome to our channel Wanderlust Foodie Channel

Pork Spare Ribs Nilaga

Recipe:

~ Pork Ribs (rinsed thoroughly) - 1 kg

~ Onion - 1 pc

~ Potatoes - 3 pcs

~ Mince Garlic

~ Whole Peppercorn

~ Spring Onions- 1 pc

~ Spinach - 1 pack

~ Lettuce - 1 pack

~ Fish Saue

~ Knorr Pork Cubes

~ Water - I used 1.5 L of hot water (just until the meats are covered)

Step by Step

~ Rinse well the pork to remove unnecessary grime and smell

~ Put the pork in a high flame cooking pot

~ Let the pork render its own fat

~ Cook it until slightly brown

~ Put in Onions and Garlic mix well

~ Put in Spring Onions and make sure to Sautee it well (Optional)

~ Add Pepper

~ Add fish sauce, mix well

~ After the aroma of onions, garlic and spring onions (optional) incorporate with the pork, Start adding water

~ Add Knorr pork cubes

~ Let it boil for atleast 30 to 40mins or until the pork is fork tender

~ Once the pork is fork tender, Add Potatoes

~ Let it boil for a couple of minutes

~ Add eggplant and okra

~ Simmer for a minute or two

~ Add Lettuce and Spinach

~ Add Spring onions (Optional)

~ Mix it well and simmer it for a couple of minutes

~ Serve with rice and fish sauce with lemon & chillies

~ ENJOY

MOIST CRINKLES WITH WHITE CHOCOLATE FILLINGS

Ingredients:
1 Cup Cocoa Powder
1 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup oil
4 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp salt

Optional Filling: chocolate ganache
Chocolate chips/White Chocolate chips or crushed chocolate

for Coating :
Icing sugar

Bake in a pre heated oven, 180C, 8mins for Small Portion / 12mins for Larger Portion. Do not over bake.

Serve & Enjoy! ☺️
