"We have extended Amanda's fundraiser until October! By donating to her fundraiser you are supporting smaller authors and communities to have a voice and the space to express experiences and describe identities.

This is a poetry collection about grief, identity, and survival. Told through the lens of working-class life, it moves through the five stages of grief – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance – capturing the heartbreak and resilience of lives shaped by struggle. These poems don’t just ask you to reflect, they ask you to feel.

Go to our website and help us voice those experiences! "

Part two of our amazing 2024 , today is non-fiction and some fantasy! Go check'em out 👀

- "Value Beyond Money": Drawing on the lessons learned as Bristol Pound’s managing director, the author examines the theory and practice behind many new economic ideas. What really is ‘money’? Can we imagine an economic system that prioritises non-financial value? Can we create a post-market economy? The author’s conclusions shape a new narrative and understanding that will forever change how you think of money and the economy.

- "Silenda": Horatio is not a hero. But he is lost in a world divided by the light and the dark.
Horatio’s family are Luxies; believers in the afterlife. His best friend is an Umbra; a believer in eternal nothingness. When a terrorist attack strikes the city, Horatio’s powerful uncle recruits him to find out who is behind it. Alongside his best friend, a girl with no memory, a grumpy computer geek, a man named after a bird and the city’s most famous supermodel, Horatio uncovers a dark reality;
A vicious underground organisation trying to exploit the most terrifying truth of all; what really happens when we die?

- "Crown and Scalpel": Close your eyes and look into the light. What do you see? Now click with your tongue, then face a wall and click again. What do you hear? This is how Ambarenyll perceives the world after becoming blind in a Darmé rebel attack. Thirteen years later, he finally finds the courage to pick up his stethoscope once more. But just as he starts to practice medicine again, old wounds resurface when the fragile treaty between the Mané and Darmé factions splinters apart. When the young doctor finds himself having to treat Princess Jade, sole daughter of the Mané King, he is confronted with emotional turmoil that he thought had been long buried. As their attraction grows amidst the backdrop of looming civil war, a dark family secret threatens to throw everything into even deeper chaos.

Meet the Crown and Scalpel by CJL Thomason

Caroline was born in the German-speaking region of Belgium to two Flemish parents. When she was six, she moved to Flanders, where she currently lives on her family’s farm with her dad and aunt as well as their horse, ponies and corgis. From a young age, Caroline was a passionate reader and loved creating stories that brought joy to others. After she lost her mother, she found it hard to blend in with her peers at school and often relied on writing fiction to cope with emotions. She started writing her debut novel Crown and Scalpel when she was sixteen years old and published it with Arkbound in 2024!
