Happy World Braille Day!
Louis Braille was born on 4 January 1809. He lost his sight when he was merely three years old. We know him as the inventor of the Braille system.
Crown and Scalpel is a featuring a .
The picture shows an excerpt from the novel:
“It’s called Braille, named after the human who invented it.
As you can guess, it’s a writing system for the blind.” He gently
took her right hand and extended her fingers, placing them on
the page. “We use our fingers to read. It’s a six-dot system, and
the number and arrangement of the dots represent different
characters. Here,” he replaced her fingers on the page, “this is an
‘a.’” He moved her fingers again. “And this is ‘l.’”

“Basically, yes. But it’s the position of the dots that makes a
character,” Ambarenyll clarified.
