📣 Announcing another of our 2026 album releases: Charles Maxtone-Smith's debut solo album!

🎹 This album brings together two titans of the organ repertoire: Louis Vierne and Maurice Duruflé, making full use of the resources of Buckfast Abbey’s Ruffatti instrument. Vierne’s tumultuous Cinquième Symphonie is paired with Duruflé’s Prélude, Adagio et Choral varié sur le thème du Veni Creator, whose beauty and power celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Between these two great works stands Duruflé’s teacher, Charles Tournemire, whose sensuous colour and harmony evoke the beating heart of French mysticism in an improvisation on the Marian hymn 'Ave maris stella', later transcribed by his pupil.

📅 Due for release in the spring!
