Nestled in 15 acres of paddocks and woodland, we are in a location envied by many, rivalled by none. Located within a nature reserve and conservation area on the herts/essex border in the small country village of stocking Pelham, we are alive with exciting sights, smells and sounds of which your dog will enjoy and be part of!! Your dog will be spoilt for choice when it comes to having fun….. Nature trails, farm tracks, wide open spaces, high octane fun in the paddock or just a waddle round the garden, we have something for every wet nose to enjoy…. Your dog will be out and about as much as possible. Our kennels are fully heated and have attached, covered garden rooms, and with only 12 kennels, they receive the highest 1 to 1 care possible with bagfuls of tlc. YOUR DOGS MAY ONLY BE DROPPED OFF AND COLLECTED WITHIN OUR OPENING TIMES WHICH ARE:

MON- FRI 9am – 5pm, SATURDAYS 10am-4pm, and SUNDAY 10am – 4pm NO VIEWINGS ON SUNDAYS! GATES ARE LOCKED AT ALL OTHER TIMES, IF ANY DELAY IN COLLECTION PLEASE CALL US ASAP, YOUR DOG WILL BE TAKEN TO RECEPTION AS NOT TO DISTURB OTHER GUESTS, IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR LATE YOUR DOG WILL HAVE TO BE COLLECTED THE NEXT MORNING, THANKYOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. When the sun goes in the clouds , that little bit of relief u feel , but then u look up and see a vast blue patch of sky that clouds are drifting along to reveal 🥵
That sun is hot hot hot today , all our doggies guests have been out this morning as much as possible before this heat kicked in , that's it now til later , if anyone needs loo then we literally nip out , do the business and straight back in
Currently at 12:52pm our thermometer on outside of our little reception lodge is 30c in the shade ! 🔥
But glad to say that within our kennels it's a nice and cool 20.5c , but if inside temp of kennels rise above 24c then our cool air system is on and ready and will cut in and knock the temp down to around 18c-20c , in 15 years I've only ever known it to cut in twice !
Our kennel building is so well insulated that it reflects a good amount of the outside heat , it's nice to walk in and out of it to cool down ourselves lol
Water bowls both inside and outside are refreshed regularly to keep it nice and cool to drink , nothing worse than drinking tepid water , never quenches thirst
So again in this spell of returning heat all doggies staying or due to come in will be comfortable and kept safe during this heat , we monitor each and every single dog several times a day , just because we are not out walking and playing doesn't mean they are just left in kennels , we do odd jobs in and around kennels with this time , if any dogs even show a hint of feeling a bit too hot we are on them like a seagull on a bag of chips ! But as of yet thankfully, no doggies has shown any signs of being uncomfortable etc
And once again , please remind the little people who love playing hosepipes games leave hose running on ground before they touch the water or spray dog or sibling , sadly I've been reading countless stories of dogs getting blinded and scalded by innocent games with hosepipes , and same goes for water bowls left in direct sunlight , that can heat so much it could scald dogs mouth / tongue , accidents like these can be avoided

Please remind your kids when playing in the garden with their 4 legged best friend NOT to sq**rt /spray the dog with hose pipe when they just turned it on , it will be scolding hot water until water cools pipe , accidents like this happen every year with hosepipes and can be so avoided, what can be a fun innocent game can turn bad really fast , scalding water , burnt faces , burnt skin , burnt mouths , even blinded in some cases , just please tell them to make sure not to sq**rt the dog , even their brother , sister or friend until the water runs cold !
And also don't let dogs who play with hose consume too much water when playing with hose spray , water intoxication or hyponatremia as it's called can kill !!
