A little gem on the Moray coast 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Hopeman. Sometimes sitting on a rock and watching the 🌊👣 waves beckon the shore is all you need. Stopping and breathing in the salty air, and being totally PRESENT & AWARE is magical. No thinking of the past or the future. Just be! Pure bliss! ❤️

Sometimes all you need to do is look down and see the amazing ripples and patterns that the waves leave behind🌊

📸Capturing the Textures of the 🌊Tide ✨ at Roseile beach, Moray 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I like to chase light, fiery sunsets, crashing waves, the dramatic cliffs. But lately, I’ve found myself pointing my lens straight down. There is an entire world of abstract minimalism hidden in the wet sand at low tide. Texture and light are often more powerful than a wide-angle horizon.

🔍 The "Golden Hour" Glow can create high-contrast highlights and deep shadows. This is what gives the sand its three-dimensional, metallic quality. By capturing the reflections of the clouds in water, we get a "dual landscape." It breaks up the texture of the sand with the soft, ethereal glow of the atmosphere.
💡 You need shadows to define the "peaks" and valleys" of ripples. When shooting abstracts like this, depth of field is key. Use a narrower aperture (around f/8 to f/11) to ensure the textures are sharp from the foreground all the way to the reflection.

For me, photography is the art of 👁️ seeing what everyone else walks over. Next time you’re on the coast, slow down, look down, and find the masterpiece in the mud.

What’s your favorite "overlooked" subject to shoot? Drop a photo in the comments or let me know below! 👇❤️ thanks for watching ❤️

Chasing the Tide 🌊
There’s nothing quite like the raw beauty of the coast to clear your head. Today was all about salty air, the crunch of sand underfoot, and watching the clouds dance over the shoreline.
Whether you're exploring the rock pools or just taking a moment to breathe it all in, the beach always has a way of putting things into perspective. Nature really is the best reset button. 🐚✨

Burghead, Moray🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Sometimes the best views are not far away but on your doorstep. A sweeping coastal view of Burghead in Moray 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, where a weathered pier stretches into the 🌊sea beneath a dramatic sky of layered ☁️ clouds, tinged with soft pink and blue hues. This scene captures a quiet, windswept beauty, with textured water and rugged shoreline foregrounded by wild grasses. I am so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of Scotland. ❤️❤️

My digital feminine art explores female visual narratives whereby my 📸 photographs culminate in a raw, layered landscape of female emotion, where the divine feminine is explored within themes of vulnerability, strength, nurture, pain, intuition, the female as the protector, the warrior as well as liberation and transformation coexist.

My art weaves intimate female narratives through layered, emotive imagery, where darkness is not an end point but a place of transformation. Each piece reveals how hope and beauty can emerge from fractured moments, illuminating the quiet resilience within.

Through expressive forms and textured symbolism, I portray women as powerful yet deeply human guardians, nurturers, and unwavering sources of unconditional love. There is a tenderness in the depictions, a reminder that even in vulnerability, there is protection, creation, and enduring light.

Through fragmented textures, surreal compositions, and expressive self-representation, I try to challenge constraint and reclaim identity.

Each piece feels like a moment of TRUTH, a release: a shedding of silence, an emergence into visibility. Themes of liberation run throughout, not as a quiet freedom, but as something visceral and hard-won where the female form becomes both subject and storyteller, unapologetically expressing the complexity of inner life.

The elements of nature, 🛘earth, 💨air, 🔥fire and 💦water play a key role within my concepts with emphasis that the feminine is ⚡divine energy and integral part of mother earth.

My art explores the divine connection and universal spiritual energy that resides within every ethereal soul seeking enlightenment and freedom. I am drawn to themes of the esoteric and the unseen, expressing a deeper search for meaning, transcendence, and inner awakening.

I work exclusively with my own original photography, no AI, just a hands-on creative process. I embrace experimentation, allowing room for trial, error, and discovery until the final piece feels right. Through my work, I explore a range of moods and messages; sometimes they’re clear and immediate, while other times they’re more subtle, inviting personal interpretation. Thanks for your time. ❤️❤️

Sometimes you just have to get away from the noise and be yourself again. At sunset, 🌲Loch Morlich, Aviemore, glows with 🌟soft gold reflections beneath the shadow of the 🌄Cairngorm Mountains. The still water mirrors dark pines and fading light, while a quiet calm settles over the 👣 shore, making the whole scene feel peaceful and timeless. This is my happy place.😍

I’m delighted to share that I won a lovely trophy 🏆 for the most Creative Photo Image EVE at the Grampian Eye Photography Competition 2026, competing alongside talented photographers from 14 clubs each submitting their top 12 images from across the north East of Scotland region. Happy with the 20/20 score where I used my original photos all layered in Photoshop ( b&w self portrait layered with my other photos of nature and fireworks to create this mystical image).

It’s an honour to be recognised in such a strong field and thankyou to Speyside photography club for selecting my image to go forward.

A big thankyou to Speyside photography club for hosting the event this year also.
Congrats all the other winners and participants in the landscape, people and places and monochrome category. It was lovely to take part!!
