Just been to our local fireworks display. We are lucky to have one. It was a busy night and it was actually dry, no wind and quite mild. Perfecto!

Today it was back to normality after being away a month from the cottage. Many, many jobs were waiting. First up was to put a load of washing on. Then to strip and process all the remaining tomatoes from the polytunnel. Now left with a few green ones. I wonder if they will ripen on the conservatory windowsillsšŸ¤”
Next was to pick all the remaining pears. I got another batch of pear wine started and made some pear and sultana muffins. Do you like my personalised tin i was given!
The sun was still shining so I thought 'bu**er it' I am going enjoy a ride in the sunshine. We recently found out that we had come 3rd over all in our local riding club's dressage league which i found amazing since we didnt even enter all the stages. All she wanted to know was if it was edible🤣
Now we are indoors enjoying a quiet long evening reading and cross stitching, me that is himsrlf doesn't do cross stitch🤣🤣

Believe it or not we are away again setting off at 7.00am to travel up to north of Aberdeen. I have swapped stained glass tools for straw ones namely straw, string and scissors! This weekend is all about combining straw and christmas. Himself is being cultural and is spending his time visiting a castle or two of the many up here.

We go home tomorrow after an enjoyable week of learning the art of stained glass. Today started out with a beautiful sunrise. I then spent the morning cementing, buffing and polishing to finish. This is my finished piece, not a great photo as it is against a dirty window. I have learnt so much and no where all my mistakes are. Looking forward to seeing it hung in its final position.

Today i worked on first finishing cutting the glass pieces . When that was done i learnt how to copper foil each piece. It is now ready for me to solder it all together tomorrow and then edge it in the traditional lead method.
The classes finish at 4pm and it is still light enough for us to go on a walk through the estate. It was a lovely evening and the clours were stunning. After working up an appetite we had dinner followed by a talk on the history of the estate, followed by a few of us doing a group crossword with drinks and nibbles.

Stained glass is the answer! A craft i have never done before but have fancied having a go for some time. First create your design and then cut your glass. Simples! What could go wrong!!! I did have a piece of devils glass that refused to break where expected but i have found that is what grinders are for🤣🤣🤣
Tomorrow i have a few more pieces to cut then i have to somehow join them all together.
