Bomper collaborates with Black Lab Films to create Furniture Village’s ‘Christmas is All Wrapped Up’ campaign; with a cosy spot on the ITV and Sky networks.

Crafting idents of varying lengths, Bomper Studio was brought in to recreate the festive wrapping elements in CG which seamlessly blended with the live-action.

📣Bomper Academy Presents…📣

‘Laundry Day’ – a snapshot tale of love, loss, and laundry - directed by Lead Animator Bianca Iancu, as part of our new internal talent development programme in nurturing tomorrow's filmmakers at the studio.

Wanting to explore Unreal Engine with Blender as part of the studios pipeline and upskilling the wider team, Bomper opened the floor for ideas to be pitched forward as part of the development. The atmospheric film explores the intersection of technology and humanity in an inner-city laundromat 🤖

It's been great to see our team realise their ideas through experimenting with animation software and technology and we’re super excited about what else will come out of our programme.

The work was produced as part of the repositioning of the confectionary staple as the go-to for commemorating year-round special moments, while inviting a younger-tech savvy audience to the party.

Ceri will be discussing our 4-day week success and other initiatives we've launched to build a fairer, more resilient and sustainable screen industry in Wales.

DAY 1:

🕹 The GDC expo officially opened for the first day, and Bomper exhibited on The Welsh Pavilion (S248). We spent the day catching up with a wide range of incredible companies and individuals in the content and games space.

📲 Unreal Engine 5's MetaHuman revealed and demonstrated a new update called Animator which allows you to create new fully animated facial models in real time with just a phone camera. The raw data was neither touched nor polished, yet almost 85% finished animation. Truly impressive!

💡 We caught up with some exciting companies in the cinematics and MoCap community at two evening events across San Francisco. There was so much shared-learning, with great company.

Guillermo's success at the Oscars is a great recognition of the artistry and technical skill required to create such works. Certainly more to be done to increase visibility of the animation industry, but hopefully this accolade will lead to more investment and growth opportunities for the sector 🙌
