LifeStyle Wales caught up with Ann to find out more about this amazing product. Here’s what she had to say:

What do you love most about the area that you live?
It’s quiet and peaceful and has open spaces nearby where I can walk and enjoy the fresh air and nature. I only moved here recently (thus the new bathrooms) and I’m pleased that I’ve got some nice neighbours who have made me feel very welcome.

In terms of style, how would you describe the interior decor of your home?
I would say it’s contemporary - I have tried to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I don’t like clutter but I do like to see some personal touches in a home and I want visitors to feel comfortable when they’re here.

My lounge, dining room and kitchen are all in warm and subtle, colours because this is where I spend most of my time and I want to relax in my home and warm colours help this.

However, I love colour and therefore have indulged in using stronger colours in the bedrooms (where I prefer it cooler) and bathrooms. After all we’re not in any of those places for a long time - well our eyes are closed most of the time we’re in the bedroom!

Was there something specific that you had in mind when you wanted to refurbish your bathrooms?
I wanted to create a statement in these rooms. Yes, there are some beautiful grey and beige bathrooms out there but they don’t have the wow factor - I’m thrilled with how mine have turned out!

How did you discover Splashbax panelling, and what made you decide to have them in your home?
I searched the web and initially only found panels which had a tile effect or pale marbling until eventually I found Splashbax and then I was hooked. There’s so much colour and so much choice - I was so excited! The hardest part was making the decision regarding what to choose. As I was refurbishing the whole property I didn’t have the head space to come up with my own design (they will do anything and can use any photograph you want) but I’m very happy with the choices I made.

Out of the options available, why did you decide to choose Liquid Marble and why did you pick those particular two colours?
It wasn’t too difficult to decide on the colour for my en-suite as I knew I wanted it blue to blend with my bedroom and the liquid marble is very dramatic - just right for the shower area - it would have been too much all over. I went to town a bit more in the main bathroom and love the result and the reaction when people see it. They’re both stunning in my opinion.

How did you find the process of working with Dave at Newport Bathroom Centre - how did he help in terms of the process?
Dave Viggers could not have been more helpful. I was able to see colour samples and once I’d made my decision he talked me through the whole process. In order to match the pattern joins it was imperative to get the measurements right and he was thorough throughout and once I had placed my order he kept me up to date on progress.

Would you recommend these panels, and if so, why?
The panels are easy to keep clean and it’s easy to see the quality of the finish. I am thrilled with them and have been recommending them, and Dave, to all my family and friends. 😻OFF WITH HER HEAD😻

The Sherman Theatre is currently showing its production of Alice: Return to Wonderland until the 3rd of January 2026 - a dreamlike and uplifting new show, written and directed by Hannah McPake and based on Lewis Carroll’s .

Sherman audiences will know Hannah as the lead actor in last year’s A Christmas Carol; the highest grossing show in the company’s history.

One of the company’s best loved artists, Hannah’s previous work at the Sherman both on- and off-stage has wowed audiences and critics alike.

As an actor, she is best known for her lead role as Ebbie Scrooge in both productions of A Christmas Carol (2021 and 2024) and as Queen of Hearts in Sherman’s 2018 production of Alice in Wonderland. In 2022 she wrote the company’s production of Tales of the Brothers Grimm and in 2021 she wrote and directed the one-woman play Tilting at Windows.

Hannah’s new play, based on Carroll’s classic tales, will transport us from post-war Cardiff to the surreal Wonderland, where grown-up Alice races against time to save her daughter Carys from the clutches of the evil Red Queen. Audiences will be reunited with the classic Wonderland characters they know and love, and will meet some new ones too.
