It was absolutely chocka on beaches across Wales yesterday! 🤯 The Met Office said Monday was the hottest May day ever recorded in Wales - with temperatures even reaching 33.5C in some parts of the UK.

Beaches, parks and roads across the country were all busy as people headed out to enjoy the sunshine.

As many would expect on the hottest day of the year so far, thousands of people were pictured at Barry Island - leading some to compare it to the traditional "Miners' Fortnight" - an annual two-week summer shutdown that would often see thousands flock to UK beaches.

Huge crowds were also pictured enjoying the sun at Saundersfoot, Aberavon, Porthcawl and Barmouth beaches.

It's set to get even hotter today - with parts of south and mid Wales expected to hit 31C 🥵 Have a great day, everyone 🙌
