🚣‍♂️🏆World and Paralympic champion and multiple world record holder Benjamin Pritchard is included in Great Britain’s team for the World Rowing Cup III.

14 crews will be competing in Lucerne, Switzerland, after Britain finished the event as the overall winner in 2025.

The European, World, and Paralympic Champion is fresh off the back of breaking his own PR1 World Record over 2000m on the Concept 2 Rower.

⛳️🏆Former Walker Cup player Neil Roderick has become the first player for 21 years, and only the second ever, to win the Welsh Men’s Seniors Closed Championship at Aberdovey three years in a row.

He beat Richard Baird of Vicars Cross in a play off, battling tough conditions on the wet and windy West Wales coast, sinking a 30 foot putt to claim the title.

🏒📝Cardiff Devils have announced that goalkeeper Ben Bowns has signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay into an 11th season.

The 35-year-old netminder continues his decade-long association with the Devils after originally joining the club ahead of the 2014-15 season.

Last season, Bowns put up career best statistics playing 36 games with a goals against average of 1.94 and a save percentage of 93.19%.

⚽️📝Newport County have announced that defenders Cameron Evans and Ciaran Brennan have signed new contracts with the club.

Evans made 41 appearances last season, operating across full-back, centre-back and midfield roles and has been a mainstay for County since signing for the club in 2024.

Brennan made 29 appearances in all competitions last season, establishing himself as a dependable member of the squad.

🎾Wales number one Mimi Xu has been handed a wildcard qualification slot for this year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament.

The Swansea-born 18-year-old made her Grand Slam debut against Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon last year and claimed her biggest career title at the Wrexham Open.

The legendary Williams sisters – Venus and Serena – were also given wildcards and will compete together in the Ladies’ Doubles.

⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿Wales U19 head coach Chris Gunter has challenged his newly named European Championship squad to make the senior Euros in two years.

Gunter has selected a 20-player squad to represent Cymru at the tournament, marking the nation’s fourth appearance at a men’s intermediate age group finals.

“For these players – and we know we’re hosting in 2028, that’s two years’ time – their aim and opportunity is to try and force their way into that squad,” Gunter said.

🏑🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿A groundbreaking chapter in Welsh sport was written this past weekend, as the first-ever Wales Women’s Over-70s Masters Hockey squad took to the field at the Home Nations tournament in Belfast.

In what is a landmark moment for hockey in Wales, this newly formed team represented the nation against traditional rivals England, Scotland, and England LX, marking the first time a Welsh women’s squad of this age group had competed on such a stage.

They opened with a hard-fought 0–0 draw against England LX, followed by a 2–0 loss to England, before finishing on a high with an impressive 3–0 victory over Scotland.

🏉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿Experienced winger Jasmine Joyce was full of praise for the next generation ahead of the uncapped Wales vs Barbarians match at Twickenham on June 27th.

“The talent coming through is an actual joke,” said Joyce.

“I look at some of the girls and think, ‘Oh my God, can you step like that? Are you that fast?’.

“The energy they bring into camp and into training is exactly what we need."

Newport County have announced the permanent signing of Harrison Biggins following a successful loan spell at the club during last season.

The 30-year-old impressed during his loan stint with the Exiles in the second half of the 2025-26 season having featured 21 times, scoring three goals.

Defender Ciaran Brennan has also agreed a new deal with the Exiles.
