You don’t stop loving your child because they’re struggling.
You don’t stop being their mum because they’ve made mistakes.
You help them, you set boundaries, you hold them accountable and you keep showing up.

So this isn’t me sharing everything that happened.

It’s simply me saying…

He’s home. 🤍

And for now, that’s all that needs to be said.

The last few weeks have been some of the hardest I’ve had in a long time.

I’ve felt completely drained. Mentally, emotionally… just done.

When I’m like that, I’m the first person I stop looking after.

I’ve still been Mum. Still done the school runs, the washing, the cleaning, the food shopping and all the everyday stuff that doesn’t stop just because life feels heavy.

But me?

I’ve been somewhere at the bottom of a very long list.

Tonight felt different though. 💕

Things are slowly starting to move in a better direction and for the first time in weeks, I actually wanted to look after myself.

So I had the everything shower. 😂

Washed my hair, shaved, did my skincare, dried my hair properly instead of chucking it up wet 🙃 and just spent a little bit of time on ME.

And I know it’s only a shower.

But when you’ve spent weeks just trying to keep everything and everyone going, suddenly having the energy to care about yourself again feels bloody massive.

I’m not pretending everything is perfect.

It isn’t.

But things feel a little more hopeful than they did.

And tonight, for the first time in a while…

I caught a little glimpse of me again. 🤍

If you’ve been in survival mode lately too, I hope your little glimpse of you comes back soon. x
