After being rocked earlier in the round the aim was to build back up to my feet and turn the tide in the wrestling. I was so spent at this point I struggled to defend the takedowns, this round was definitely a learning curve for me and taught me lots about myself!

For the 3rd round the game plan was simple - back him up the cage work the wrestling and keep him controlled. I did good work early on in the roundmaintaining forward pressure, I was completely exhausted but all I could think was to keep the pressure on.

Halfway through the second round my opponent implemented a wrestling heavy approach after a some back and forth on the feet. This allowed for me to show some of my jiu jitsu offensive when I'm pressed against the cage. Nearly getting the finish.

Going into the second round I was way more tired than I'd ever been previously so soon in a fight, a mix of being ill at the start of the week and the heat in the indigo I was definitely feeling it!

Regardless I put my foot on the gas and started trading, a heavy wrestling approach from my opponent and some slick Jiu jitsu transitions made for a very entertaining round.

By the second half of the first round, we'd both got a feel for each other's strength in the grappling. That started opening up opportunities on the feet for both of us. I stuck to the game plan—hold the centre, keep the pressure on, and force him to react to me rather than the other way around.

This was this most fun part of the fight for me!
