A message Terrance Marshman-Edwards after another fantastic run of the one man play Twinkle: And with that, the Widow is packed away again for this year.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to see Twinkle at Porters. The standing ovations were wonderful and humbling and surreal (as always), and the feedback has been phenomenal. After Friday’s performance, an international student (who turned up on an absolute whim) told me that Twinkle was the first time they’d seen a play in a theatre. I hope it won’t be their last!
As always, thanks to my Watchers brothers-in-arms Rhys and Matthew, my superb director Christopher (you were with us in spirit for this leg of the journey), my indefatigable tech supremo Gavin, the wonderful Vicki for the make-up design, and my fantastic husband Alex for all his love and support (and for putting up with me being clean-shaven again!).
Another huge thank you to Dan, Alice and Frankie at Porters Theatre for programming me in. What I said at the close of the show is something I firmly believe in: grassroots local venues like Porters are vital to the cultural life of Cardiff, and deserve to be supported. There are hundreds of venues like this all over the country, so please, wherever you can, support your local arts venues and companies.
So what comes next? Well, I will be Twinkling at least once in 2026, with the rescheduled performance at Cardiff Theatre Cafe (date TBC). After that... who knows?
(PS. Thank you to James Barker of Ye Green Men for the costumed photo!)
