And here it is! The first in a series of 13 filmed rehearsed readings that we filmed last year!

It was an enormous challenge to film in such a small space whilst also making sure that everything was done safely. Having to keep microphones socially distanced was the main issue we had - but thanks to a patient and flexible cast and crew, and some post-production wizardry from Josh Bowles, it's all come together quite nicely!

Yn y ddrama Driftwood gan Edward Lee, wedi degawdau i ffwrdd, ceir stori academwraig ddreftadaeth sy’n dychwelyd o dan warth i’w thref enedigol. Ardal glan y môr cysglyd ydoedd, wedi’i foniddigeiddio ond bellach yn ddienaid. Ar hyd y tywod llwyd, o dan y glaw garw ac yn erbyn gwyntoedd oer gaeafol, daw atgof hen berthynas i’w meddiannu. Mae ei breuddwydion glaslancaidd wedi esgor ar hunllef sy’n dryllio’i henaid. Daw ysbryd y ferch i’w haflonyddu o hyd. Ei hecstasi. Ei phoen. Ei gwaed…

In the play Driftwood by Edward Lee, a disgraced heritage academic returns home after decades to her once sleepy, since gentrified, now gutted seaside hometown. Along the grey sands, under the hard rain, against the cold winds of the long winter months, she becomes possessed by the memory of an old relationship. A teenage dream that spawned a life-draining nightmare, she is still haunted by the girl’s ghost. Her ecstasy. Her agony. Her blood

Lockdown's a tricky thing isn't it? It's been really difficult having to shelve a lot of filming because of the restrictions that we've faced making it impossible to continue with gatherings of that many people.

The plus side, is that I've been able to take on several new website development projects including developing a new website for local company Motorlegs Cycle Workshop, Newport-based creative Gareth Clark and a new art collective as well!

Looking forward to sharing those around when they're finished in the next few weeks!

I usually create several different ideas for posters before a final one is picked. Here are two alternate designs for two Hijinx Theatre productions from the past: Into the Light (a collaboration with Frantic Assembly & Danza Mobile) and Mission Control (in collaboration with National Theatre Wales).

A few years ago, myself and George Goding decided to see whether or not his smash-hit theatrical sitcom, Service! (produced by Clock Tower Theatre Company), would work for screen! We shot this on zero budget over the course of 4 (very early) mornings and it turned out pretty well! We're thrilled to finally share it - hope you enjoy!

I was thrilled to create this amazing film in collaboration with National Dance Company Wales and their Dance for Parkinson's group. I worked in close creative collaboration with the Artistic Director, Fearghus Ó Conchúr to create an original dance film that would allow these incredible dancers to perform. Following the film itself is a look behind the scenes at the creation of the piece.

This film was produced in collaboration with National Dance Company Wales and English National Ballet. Working with the Dance for Parkinsons group in South W...

At the end of 2019, there was an enormous theatrical event called Mission Control. Hijinx Theatre and National Theatre Wales took over the Principality Stadium and I had the great pleasure of producing a whole bunch of eclectic video pieces to accompany the production, from the promotion of the show, to in-show, in-world programmes and adverts and additional visual effects and even characters! You can see all of the content here!

"We cannot afford to be idle. To act on a bad idea is better than to not act at all. Because the worth of the idea never becomes apparent until you do it. Sometimes this idea can be the smallest thing in the world, a little flame that you hunch over and cup with your hand, and pray will not be extinguished by all the storm that howls about it. If you could hold onto that flame, great things could construct around it, that are massive and powerful and world changing, all held up by the tiniest of ideas."
Nick Cave, 20,000 Days on Earth
